Valladolid, Segovia, Palencia y Ávila, las provincias con mayor participación en España

Valladolid, Segovia, and Palencia were the Spanish provinces with the highest turnout in the European Parliament elections on June 9th, when Castilla y León ultimately recorded a participation rate of 55.46 percent, 9.05 points lower than in 2019 when the elections coincided with regional and municipal votes.

Specifically, Valladolid reached a turnout of 58.87 percent, which is 9.59 points lower than in the previous elections, although the province has the highest participation rate in the country, followed by Segovia, where turnout was 58.37 percent, 12.07 percentage points lower.

In addition, Palencia ranks third in Spain with a turnout of 57.32 percent, 11.07 points lower than in the 2019 elections; and Ávila ranks fourth with a turnout of 56.65 percent, a percentage 14.5 points lower.

In fifth place is Madrid, which recorded a turnout of 56.31 percent; followed by Valencia, with a turnout of 56.26 percent.

In seventh place is the province of Burgos with 55.65 percent, 8.5 points below the 2019 turnout rate of 55.47 percent.

The rest of the provinces in Castilla y León also recorded a turnout rate higher than the Spanish average, which was 49.21 percent. Specifically, Salamanca recorded a turnout of 54.23 percent, which is 7.5 points lower than in 2019.

Likewise, 54.22 percent of eligible voters in Soria voted on Sunday, 7.8 points less; while in León, 51.99 percent of those called to vote participated, 6.9 less; and in Zamora, 51.89 percent, a percentage 9.9 lower than in the previous European elections.
