Illes Balears Palma Futsal secured a victory against Movistar Inter on Saturday through penalty kicks (1-3), after a 3-3 tie during regular time, marking their first-ever entry into the Spanish Cup final, with the 2025 edition taking place at Palacio Sports Murcia.
Early on, Javi Mínguez threatened with a shot that hit the crossbar from a corner kick, followed by another attempt hitting the post. Inter had the upper hand, with Cecilio Morales hitting the post at 11′ and a goal being disallowed due to a handball. However, Illes Balears opened the scoring at 5:15 before halftime.
Fabinho took a free-kick, the ball deflected off Raúl Gómez, and Bruno Gomes scored the rebound. Just 34 seconds later, Babe crossed from the left flank, and Carlos Bartolomé’s shot deflected off Bruno Gomes. Palma then went up 1-2, courtesy of Ernesto Claudino, who received a pass from the goalkeeper, dribbled past Raudo on the left, and slotted the ball home with his right hand on the second attempt after the goalkeeper’s save.
However, Torrejoneros fought back and leveled the score to 2-2 at 26.1 to head into halftime, with a goal from Carlos Bartolomé, a high shot beside the post and through Fabinho’s legs. In the second half, Neguinho made it 2-3 (min.28) with an empty-net goal, assisted by Jesús Gordillo and Babe once again (32′), capitalizing on a piece of skill by Lucão.
The outcome was decided in the penalty shootout. Despite Jesús Herrero saving two penalties, Neguinho and Piqueras did the same on the opposite end, with Luan Muller against Raya and Carlos Barrón against Raúl Gómez. Chaguinha hit the post, and Ernesto sealed the victory for Mallorca.
