Innovación y protagonismo femenino en Foro Gastronómico Galicia

The tenth edition of Galicia Fórum Gastronomico celebrated a new day on Monday at the Expocoruña fairground, with a commitment to innovation, local products, and creativity, with women as the protagonists.
Elena Arzak, the only woman with 3 Michelin stars, and Marsia Taha, the best Latin-American chef, participated the following day, along with Ricard Camarena, among others. They were joined by renowned names in Galician cuisine such as Xosé Canna, Manuel Cosia, and Iria Espinosa, who shared a session with Sommelier El Celler de Can Roca, Martis Cortizes, to discuss training.
On the other hand, Monday’s agenda also included the Galicia Clear Stars Championship by Cervera, to find the top expert in autonomous community beer service. Sonia Falcón from Cambados was crowned the best beer server in Galicia, followed by Xavier Parada from Santiago. The Expocoruña venue was filled with visitors enjoying numerous offerings in the wine, cocktails, and coffee world, including the final of the Sommelier Battle.
Estrella Galicia presented its circular Brewerías project at the forum to promote sustainable practices in the hospitality industry. The project aims to transform the beer production process by implementing circularity throughout the lifecycle of breweries, with successful case studies highlighted at different stages. Meanwhile, Avigal, through its brand Pazo de Pías, offered an exclusive tasting of baked chicken thighs with creamy mustard, garlic, and mushroom sauce.
These activities were complemented by planned events on Tuesday, such as the Picadillo Awards, the II Empanadas Challenge, and the Xchef Galicia Challenge by Cervezas 1906. The final day will feature Japanese Kanji Kobayashi, Lucía Freitas, Xavier Pellicer, Javier Olleros, and others.
Prior to these events, Gastronomic Fórum Galicia welcomed political representatives, including the BNG’s national spokesperson Ana Pontón, who emphasized the importance of supporting professionals who champion innovation and creativity in Galicia. PSDEG representatives Patricia Iglesias, Julio Abalade, and Silvia Longuira advocated for local products and education for the younger generation.
The tenth edition of the Galicia Gastronomic Forum features over 200 exhibitors and expects to surpass 25,000 participants, highlighting the tourism opportunities in A Coruña and providing a unique platform for producers and restaurants to connect.
