El Sevilla acumula en un mes y medio agua para un año de consumo

The network of tanks of the metropolitan company for the supply and sanitation company of Seville (EMASESA) has accumulated water that exceeds 97% of its maximum capacity, after a March with abundant rains following the passage of Borascas that caused floods in numerous areas of the province.
According to EMA, this amount of water would be sufficient to supply Seville and the eleven municipalities within the network for six years. Since mid-February, the marshes have water in the tank equivalent to a year’s consumption and currently hold 623.59 hectometers of water.
Therefore, with a March of higher-than-usual rainfall, the reserves increased significantly after the storms across the province pushed them to their capacity limits, reaching in some cases the red level due to the risk of overflowing into river flows, similar to the situation with the melon tanks. This stands in stark contrast to last year’s data, where the tank water did not exceed 48%.
The Pelanar tank stands out, located between the municipal terms of Castilblanco de los Arroyos and El Pedroso, exclusively dedicated to human consumption, being the largest in the province with a maximum of 185.6 cubic hectometers and currently at 100% capacity. Also, the El Gergal tank, located in the municipality of Guillena, with a maximum capacity of 35.04 cubic hectometers, has been at 100% capacity since January 21.
Following is the Zufre tank, which has almost reached its maximum capacity of 175.27 cubic hectometers, at 99.2%. Additionally, the Aracena tank currently holds 125.16 cubic hectometers, which is 97.3% of its capacity.
Furthermore, the Minilla reservoir also exceeds 90% (90.4%), holding 52.28 cubic hectometers of water out of its total capacity of 57.8. Additionally, the Cala tank, located in Ronquidos, is at 87.7%, which amounts to 51.56 cubic hectometers of water in the tank.
