The recovery of the exhibition grounds as a friendly space for public use and enjoyment receives a new boost from the Zaragoza Municipal Council through a new shaded area that has been fully installed this week in the thematic locations.
This intervention is part of the total investments compiled in the Zaragoza Tourism Sustainability Plan, with 2,000,000 euros from European funds.
The council installed 33 2×6 meters to protect from high temperatures, covering an area of almost 400 square meters in this environment, near the Expo amphitheater.
In addition to the regular users of the riverbank, this measure will have a special utility in events that attract various audiences, such as the river and play events during the Pilar festivities and as a passage and recreation area during concerts and the Vive Latin Festival.
The investment to install the shade structures amounts to 23,000 euros and represents a continuation of the various actions carried out by the local council in Zaragoza in this field, aiming to improve the living conditions for those who enjoy these spaces.
In fact, this plan has already allowed interventions in the amphitheater itself, where, in the last two years, the council has made improvements worth 150,000 euros. In this case, they served to condition that space, including organizing the stands and also installing a textile shade on the stage with a value of almost 36,000 euros.
In this way, the municipal government affirms its interest in enhancing this area of the city, presenting it as a priority within the European program that supports these actions.
Moreover, there is an intention to continue, as there are still funds available for this plan, which will be used to complete the investment in the amphitheater and the thematic locations.
