Bomberos de Madrid comparten prácticas de accesos forzados con servicios de emergencia de España

The Fire Department of the City of Madrid today inaugurated a conference on forced access to share experiences and best practices in this area of their interventions with other emergency and security services in Spain. The vice mayor and delegate for Security and Emergency Situations of the capital, Inma Sanz, attended the opening of the meeting, held at the Madrid Firefighters School in Puente de Vallecas, accompanied by the district councilor, Ángel Niño, and commanders of the Fire Department.
Twenty firefighters from across the country are participating in this event (from the municipalities of Barcelona, Bilbao, Alicante, Ávila, Guadalajara, among others; from the city councils of Zaragoza, Málaga, Murcia, Toledo, Bizkaia, Almería, among others; to the Community of Madrid and the Generalitat de Catalunya), as well as various operational groups from the National Police (GEO, UIP, etc.), Guardia Civil (GAR, GAO, etc.), Royal Household or Navy Police. municipalities of Getafe and Madrid. In total, more than thirty emergency and security services will carry out, for three days, practical workshops supported by instructors from nine fire departments and the GOIT operational group of the National Police. In addition, there will be other workshops by companies that work with specific tools.
Forced access interventions constitute around 25% of all those carried out by the Madrid Fire Department, both for confirmed fires and explosions inside buildings, as well as for the rescue of people in elevators, as well as to attend to risky situations that could cause fires, to recognize conditions in a building that could compromise its structural integrity, to reach people at risk who may need rescue or medical attention, and to comply with police and judicial requirements.
