Alegría defiende los beneficios de la ley de vivienda y pide su aplicación en Aragón

Alegría, who participated on Saturday in Azuara (Zaragoza) to lay the first stone of the city’s future residence, expressed «understanding and empathy» in response to the demonstrations that took place in about 40 cities across the country.
Additionally, the spokesperson for Pedro Sánchez’s government emphasized that Spain has been working with various administrations and agencies to reach the European average of 9% of social housing, as opposed to the current 3%.
«We have a significant police presence, and I would ask the autonomous communities, which have the main responsibility for housing, to enforce housing laws. I also urge the government of Aragon to take a step forward in implementing these laws because in the municipality where we have been working, we are seeing a double positive effect, on one hand with the incentives for people who make their homes available for sale or rent,» Alegría stated.
Alegría also addressed other current issues, such as the anxiety caused by the trade tariffs imposed by the United States under President Donald Trump, before mentioning the «commitment» provided to the European Union to resolve a trade war that benefits no one and expressing a willingness from both parties to find a solution.
Meanwhile, the socialist minister praised the prompt response by the Spanish government with the implementation of the first protective measures. A commercial response and relaunch plan worth 14.1 billion euros has been put in place to protect the sector and productive workers, and Alegría invited the autonomous communities to join in the effort. A meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 10th, with the central government following discussions with social agents, parliamentary groups in Congress, and a meeting on Monday in Luxembourg.
In this context, the Minister urged the PP party to adopt a «responsible policy,» stating, «The stability of our system is at stake, and I believe it is time for the Popular Party to truly implement an adult policy. The first step they must take is to break ties with those who wish to break away from Europe and want to see Europe fail as it is.»
