The court in Murcia imposes the first reviewable life sentence on a man for raping and killing a woman – TSJ – File

In the case, there are six other defendants who belonged to the recruitment and prostitution network, who also agreed with the Prosecutor’s Office.

In total, seven businessmen from the Region of Murcia have admitted to paying for sex with minors, but will avoid going to prison after agreeing with the Prosecutor’s Office to a five-month prison sentence for each of the offenses.

Also included in the case are six other defendants who belonged to the network for recruiting and prostituting minors, who also reached an agreement with the Prosecutor’s Office and, presumably, will not end up in prison either.

Specifically, it is likely that none of the 13 accused will go to prison because the sentences agreed upon for each of them do not exceed two years in prison, as long as they pay the civil liability penalty. However, the judge will convene a new hearing to determine whether or not the sentences will be suspended, as Europa Press has learned.

It should be noted that the trial was scheduled to start this Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in Room 001 of Section III of the Provincial Court, but the conciliation agreement between the defendant’s defense and the Prosecutor’s Office was not ultimately fulfilled. Office. was touched.

The events took place a decade ago. In fact, it was in 2015 when the National Police dismantled this network that recruited young people between the ages of 14 and 17 from schools and clubs in the Region of Murcia, or through online ads to prostitute themselves in alternate apartments and homes.

In the initial operation, 29 people were arrested, including the three high officials of the organization and 15 clients who specifically requested services from minors.

The network operated in Murcia, its surrounding districts, and municipalities like Lorquí. The profile of the clients, on the other hand, was «very varied,» ranging in age from 40 to 80 years old, and they paid between 80 and 200 euros for each service. A portion of this amount went to the victims and another to the organizers, as revealed when the operation was announced.

The investigation began in August 2014 when the National Police became aware of the disappearance of a minor. His parents indicated that their daughter had maintained a high standard of living for a long time, but they were unaware of any paid work for her, so the police suspected she might be a prostitute.

After conducting numerous investigations, the National Police managed to locate the minor in an apartment in the capital of Murcia, where other girls and a married couple who owned the house lived. Likewise, the agents were able to verify that in that dwelling, the minor and other young girls, some also minors, were being sexually exploited by the building’s owners.

The Prosecutor’s Office charged three women who acted as «madams» or «mothers,» that is, those who were responsible for luring minors from clubs and schools. Also among the defendants were two men who participated in the transfers and a fourth woman who acted as a liaison between the «mothers» and the minors.

At the time the Prosecutor’s Office issued the indictment, nine clients of this prostitution network were being prosecuted.

For each of the leaders of the prostitution network, the Prosecutor’s Office requested seven years in prison for each of the captured minors. In the case of the clients, the Public Ministry requested four years in prison for each of the offenses.

However, following the agreement reached between the client’s defense and the Prosecutor’s Office, the sentence was reduced to five months in prison for each of the offenses, and they will not have to enter prison.
