Sargadelos impide acceso de trabajadores por la mañana

The workers of Sargadelos participated in all their work but found the doors of the production factory closed. Therefore, they signed a sheet with their name written and attendance record. All of this happened after the sole administrator of the Sargadelos group, Segismundo García, announced on Wednesday by letter to the labor inspection and Social Security that he proceeded to close the plant on the same day.
The workers from all positions, specialties, and even ovens continued working throughout the night. In fact, the night shift ended at 6:00, when the place was abandoned and the factory was closed. The administration factory opened at 8:30, where workers usually entered, but not knowing very well «what the day will bring,» as one of the workers said.
At 7:15, the time to enter the factory, the workers arrived at the entrance and found that the key had been thrown and they couldn’t access. The workers, who do not fear union representation, as they say, «lost» in the way to follow at that moment but received advice from two union representatives: Xorxe Caldeiro from CIG and José Antonio Zan from the workers’ committees.
Due to their connection to the Alcoa conflict, there were voices protesting against their intervention, although most workers were grateful for their help. Since a certain date, the arrival of the labor inspection at the factory is expected, so the unions warn that the situation is «totally illegal,» because the path, if the desire to close the factory were to happen, would be to do it properly or similarly.
The workers did not receive any communication about the dismissal, because on Wednesday they were only told that the factory would close, and they would continue gathering their things as Thursday the doors would not open, as it happened.
On the other hand, some employees reported that on Wednesday, after the orders were canceled, the administration area was sabotaged during the night, as it was sealed off with a blockade closing the entrance fence, which was broken by maintenance employees.
A lock of the back door was also damaged, a greater measure of attention than their own sabotage. In fact, a Civil Guard patrol arrived at the scene of these actions, and the employees also claimed that they were prevented from entering.
The agents invited them to file a complaint, a measure that was not taken because the workers fear possible reprisals, as they had reached out to union representatives.
