"If there’s a downside, it’s the fact that Oura remains forever limited by the constraints imposed by a smart ring," explains Dan. "If you want something more comprehensive, then a smartwatch is likely a better option, but for everything else, there’s this."
OnePlus 13
While most phone companies focus on AI features, OnePlus has decided to build a compelling, pilot-level phone that isn’t overloaded with bloat. "Over the years, OnePlus has used labels like ‘Flagship Killer’ and ‘Ultra in Every Way’ as a means to take shots at its major rivals like Samsung, Google, and more," writes Sam. "But for the OnePlus 13, it seems like the company just walked in and made a really solid premium phone, without a cloud of AI."
Weber Searwood
Weber’s first Pelleti grill, The Smokefire, was a learning experience for the company. Fortunately, the long-standing brand learned from those missteps when they built Searwood. The company’s second smart grill offers more reliable performance, excelling in low and slow smoking. Weber opted for a completely new design for this model, from the cooking area to the new display. There’s also a manual mode that allows for open lid grilling and searing. And while there are some caveats, Searwood is a greatly improved grill compared to its predecessor.
Upcoming Reviews: Apple, Beats, Technics, and More
According to Bloomberg, Apple will debut a new iPhone next week. This will be the first update to that 2022 model and will feature a home button. The report also details specifics such as a room notch, USB-C, and Apple’s first in-house cellular modem. If the schedule holds, we expect to begin our testing shortly after the announcement.
In the same report, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman explains that the PowerBeats Pro 2 headphones are expected to debut next week. Apple’s owned brand first hinted at an update to their fitness-focused model with an over-ear hook design last September. Gurman reports that the new model will feature heart rate monitoring, a first for an Apple headphone set. If the PowerBeats Pro 2 is announced soon, we expect to have a review ready shortly.
I have the Technics EAH-AZ100 headphones for testing and review. These earbuds won one of the top awards at CES on Engadget last month, and I’ve been eager to get my hands… or ears… on them ever since.
