PP y VOX logran que el Ayuntamiento de Bilbitanano respalde la implementación de NCI en la universidad privada

The official pronouncement of support for this initiative by the society of Human Science will take place on Saturday, April 12, with a motion presented by the Municipal Group of Pp. They requested a debate on an extraordinary plenary session to transfer the defense of the municipal institution to this private university.

The motion was proposed on April 1, approved by the Council of Ministers to begin processing the Royal Decree Project by which another royal decree, 640/2021 of July 27, on the creation, recognition, and authorization of universities and institutional centers of university centers and other related rules, is modified. These proposed changes affect the criteria for the approval of new universities, such as the one presented for Calatayud with headquarters in Rome, France, and the United Kingdom.

After the presentations and interventions by the general public who filled the plenary hall, the motion received 10 votes in favor from the supporters group and with the vote of the Vox mayor.

The motion also requested the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities to refrain from unilaterally modifying the basic regulations of the State, which directly or indirectly limit the creation of new universities, without the active participation of regional governments.

Respecting the autonomy of the autonomous communities in the field of the university system, it was also requested to respect the irferería, so that NCI Aragón, presented in the Royal Decree Project, is not affected by the changes in the criteria for creating and recognizing universities.

The PP defended that the quality of university education is not evaluated by the initial number of students or the places for student accommodation. They stated that based on the details of this initiative, the government of Aragón has all the information, has the powers in this matter, and has been scrupulous in privacy. They affirmed that it is a project «that benefits the city and the region, the backbone and wealth generator for which the people of Bilbao want support for the gap».

From Citizeni-Tú Aragón, the motion was modified to change aspects of the original text. Since these changes were not approved, their councilor abstained, despite being «in favor of this university» and recalling that when NCI was presented in the capital of Bilbao in 2022, the citizens were part of the municipal government coalition with the PP.
