La Policía Nacional busca a Alejandro Aranda en Valladolid

La Policía Nacional continues with the search for Alejandro Aranda, the young man from Alkalá de Moncayo (Zaragoza) who disappeared on Sunday, March 22 in Valladolid and does not exclude any line of investigation.

The provincial chief commissioner, Francisco Oterino, met on Wednesday, April 2 with the superintendent of the municipal police in Valladolid, Julia González, and the head of the Fire Department, Javier Reinoso.

Also present at the meeting were the head of the Provincial Judicial Police Brigade, the head of the Provincial Brigade of Citizen Security, the Chief of the Judicial Police Station, and a responsible person from the Homicide and Missing Persons group.

In this case, the status of the investigations carried out by the National Police was reviewed with the aim of «commitment to efforts and resources» to verify «each and every» one of the lines of investigation.

In this regard, the National Police has highlighted, in a statement compiled by Europe Press, the «existing collaboration» between the institutions involved, such as the municipal police, which is providing aerial resources to reach the young man in difficult-to-access areas.

On the other hand, the Valladolid Fire Department is offering its material and human resources to search the river areas, which cannot be ruled out, even though they are not one of the main lines of investigation.

In this way, the National Police is conducting a thorough search from the moment they learned of Alejandro Aranda’s disappearance and informing the family about the lines of investigation.

All leads received, whether through citizen collaboration or police actions, are being pursued «as if they were positive,» although so far, no specific leads have been identified.

It was also emphasized that the Homicide and Missing Persons group, responsible for directing and coordinating the investigation, is focusing on finding evidence of what the young man may have taken.

In this way, it has not been ruled out that there may be leads for investigators to follow, and everything, if it sheds light on the case, is being pursued.

Additionally, all units in service in the city receive constant reminders of the young man’s clothing and physical description at CIMAC 091, as well as being instructed to call in any sightings of the young man.

At the time of his disappearance, Alejandro Aranda was wearing a black jacket made of a material similar to leather, oversized and black, a couple of sizes too big, black pants, and ankle-high trekking boots.

This, along with his tall stature of 1.88 meters, makes him stand out among people, said the National Police, reminding that the numbers 091 of the National Police or 112 for emergency situations in Castilla y León can be contacted if there are any leads or evidence regarding the young man.

Alejandro Aranda, who worked as a guide for Imsersso, came to Valladolid to accompany a group on one of their trips. The young man arrived at Hotel Olid on Sunday, March 22, and later that night, some witnesses reported that he seemed altered, although he did not display aggressive behavior. That same night, he left the hotel and has not been seen since. His mobile phone was left in the room, and his suitcase was found on San Quirce Street, near the National Museum of Sculpture.

Alejandro’s circle explained that he was suffering from schizophrenia and may have stopped taking his medication. His family requested that the search efforts focus on natural areas, as Alejandro is a nature lover and could be in a rural or mountainous area.
