La Guardia Civil refuerza la seguridad en Caspe tras ola de robos

The subgovernment of the Zaragoza government, Noelia Herrero, has highlighted the «considerable» effort of the Government of Spain to strengthen the Civil Guard in the city of Caspe and, therefore, improve security before the recent waves of robberies in shops, homes, and vehicles.

Noelia Herrero responded to the calls of the mayor of Caspe, Ana Jarqué, to increase the personnel of the local Civil Guard and address the security issues of the municipality’s citizens.

«Herrero must always be emphasized and continue to collaborate with the local council of Caspe, holding different meetings with state security forces and forces where we analyze the situation in the municipality, including the local Security Council that we transmitted and that took place on February 5.»

In this meeting, the agreement was made to «continue strengthening» the presence of the Civil Guard in the area, and the mayor was urged to «imper the need to resolve the internal problems that the local police have in order to recover their normal services,» she recalled.

In statements to Mass Media, Herrero mentioned that as of January, the Caspe barracks have a «complete practical» staff and have been reinforced, not only with agents from other nearby positions, such as the Security Group (GRS).

«The proof of this is the different operations that have been carried out in recent weeks in which several authors of different crimes and their collaborators have been apprehended,» she said.

In this regard, she emphasized: «There is no doubt that the Civil Guard will continue to carry out security checks on people and vehicles and conduct investigations, as agreed in the local council and as they have been doing since the local police stopped doing it through the medical victims of almost all their agencies.»

After clarifying that the Government of Spain, through the Civil Guard, is making a «considerable effort» to meet the needs of Caspe, she added that it is «essential» for the Mayor to participate «urgently» in resolving issues within their control, such as the internal conflict with the local police or the security of the premises.

In this regard, she mentioned that some of these premises «were never authorized, and others lost validity due to defects in the processing renewal,» as was already known at the local Security Council on February 5.

It also appeared that all of this was communicated to the mayor of Caspe in a letter sent by the delegate of Aragón, Fernando Beltán.
