Jorge Azón considera que Lambán ha perdido las opciones por el «colapso» de la salud, que «cambia»

The president of the government of Aragon, Jorge Azón, stated on Friday that the former president of the autonomous community, the socialist Javier Lambán, lost the 2023 elections due to the «collapse» of public health, which «leads to» the current branch counselor, José Luis Bancolero.

Azón held a press conference during a meeting with his counterpart from Andalusia, Juanma Moreno Bonilla, affirming that «the future of the counselor and the entire government is linked to an improvement in the quality of services.»

At this point, it is worth noting that the previous government reduced the health department budget by 4% after the covid pandemic, and the ambulance service in rural areas was also cut. «This caused them to lose,» he warned.

«The previous socialist government lost the elections because they themselves acknowledged that health was in collapse; this did not go unnoticed by Aragonese and that is what we are changing,» he added.

«What the Government of Aragon wants is to improve the benefits of Aragonese citizens currently, and therefore, in the 2024 budget, improvements in health services will exist, waiting lists will be reduced, and quality benefits will still be present,» emphasizing that the primary care reform project will enhance medical care.

He indicated that the decree to create the urgent primary care service (DUAP), in the project phase, «is in agreement with a majority of the union representation, with CCO and CSIF,» but with another part of the unions: «We must reach agreements,» which Bancolero will try to achieve.

«The will can only be to continue negotiating with the unions to reach an agreement that improves health in the community,» he concluded.
