Shortly after, Fermăn López lost the ball in his own field due to pressure from Vojtech Stransky, who then found Kike Salas with a left pass, and he scored the 1-2 with a right-footed shot as soon as he entered the Spanish area. The local response came after half an hour, but the strong setup from the Czechs led by Javi Guerra.
Sejk almost scored a third goal just before halftime, but his left-footed shot hit the crossbar after a quick combination in the attack. The Spanish goalkeeper, Alejandro Iturbe, had little to do before heading to the locker room with his teammates, where Santi Denia made several substitutions.
In the second half, Spain improved significantly, and Javi Guerra had a great chance in the 50th minute. Despite a shot that was deflected by the Czech goalkeeper Lukas Horicek, the Spanish team continued to push for an equalizer.
