El PP defiende a Noelia Núñez tras cuestionar sus méritos Ábalos
The Popular Party came to the defense of the Vice-Secretary of Mobilization and Digital Challenge, Noelia Núñez, after former Transport Minister, José Luis Ábalos, questioned the merits of the «popular» leader. At the same time, the group led by Alberto Núñez Feijóo demanded that left-wing feminists take charge of this.
After a video of an intervention by Núñez in which she referred to the «girlfriends of a minister’s surfaces» and other details related to reports from the Central Operation Unit (UCO) regarding the «Koldo case» involving the former minister, Núñez responded through a social media post, asserting her own merits for «SO».
Ábalos stated that Núñez, at 33 years old, is a deputy counselor and received «up to two salaries at the same time of public money». Additionally, at 27 years old, she was «driving an Audi A3» and had a «public salary of 62,700 euros» as a counselor.
After pointing out that she also earns an annual salary of 57,477 euros as a member of the People’s Party, Ábalos said: «We do not know what warrants such occupation and if you receive any of these bonuses that are usually paid in cash at the PP headquarters.»
Núñez’s response was swift: «My merits, José Luis, are: to unmask the corrupt power in Congress like you. To combat a neon-light PSOE. And to do the right, brave, and complex politics in a left-wing bastion.»
Following this exchange on social media, PP’s Secretary General, Cuca Gamararra, came to her colleague’s defense, criticizing the «archaic machismo» that, in her opinion, could only come «from a socialist minister whose feminism is based on hiring girls in public companies.»
«Given this attack, where are the women of the left? As always, they remain silent. Noelia Núñez, there is no macho that can outshine us,» added a message X, collected by Europa Press.
Similarly, PP’s spokesperson in Congress, Miguel Teldado, spoke out, stating that Ábalos’ machismo «does not surprise anyone.» «But he has stooped so low that it only shows how desperate he is.»
He also wanted to send a message of support to Núñez and ended by asking, «Where are the feminists of the left?»
