El Gobierno y la Diputación de Jaén firman plan de infraestructura de agua por 175 millones

The Spanish Government and Diputación de Jaén have signed an agreement for the financing and implementation of an urgent plan for water supply infrastructure. This plan has an estimated investment of 175 million euros and involves more than a dozen actions to be carried out over a period of three years.
The third Vice President and Minister of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, Sara Agesen, along with the President of the Provincial Administration, Francisco Reyes, were responsible for signing and announcing this agreement. The signing ceremony also included the presence of the President of the Guadalquivir Hydrographic Confederation (CHG), Joaquín Páăz.
Agesen emphasized the importance of these infrastructures in anticipating the impact of climate change and strengthening adaptive measures. She stressed the need to work proactively to design the best strategies and solutions based on precise analysis.
The Minister highlighted the urgency of the situation, stating that it is crucial to begin implementing these actions immediately to ensure quality water access to the province of Jaén. Reyes also emphasized the essential role of this plan in ensuring water supply to municipalities and addressing drought situations that have recently been experienced.
The funding for this plan comes from various sources, including the Spanish Government, the Diputación de Jaén, European funds, and the Guadalquivir Hydrographic Confederation. Aquaes, a water management company, will contribute a significant amount towards the plan, with additional funding coming from other entities involved.
The actions outlined in the plan cover a wide range of water infrastructure projects, including the connection of reservoirs, renovation of networks, and improvement of water supply systems in different areas of the province. Each action is aimed at enhancing water supply and addressing specific needs in various municipalities.
