El evento Jato regresa a Cáceres en abril para mostrar oportunidades en el mundo rural.

The rural world opportunities meeting Jato, organized by Diputacia de Cáceres, will celebrate its fourth edition from April 4th to April 6th in different spaces of the capital of Cacereñ 5.
As in previous editions, there will be concerts to complement each conference with performances by Soraya, Diván du Don, MalaseGre, Olana Liss, Blood Brothers, and Manantial Folk and Emblematic Buildings will use urban art in the city of Cáceres.
The novelty of this new event, with a total budget of approximately 350,000 euros, will be a traditional clothing parade in the province, which will take place on Sunday, April 6th in Plaza de San Jorge (10:30 am), organized by the folkloric drum group and will feature the participation of 16 couples who will showcase the typical costumes of the regions. Additionally, on that day (12:00), there will be another parade of craftsmanship and durable fashion in the same space, as in previous editions.
Plaza Mayor will continue to be the space where the regions showcase their heritage and natural wealth, while in this edition of Gastrocáceres, the activities will move to Plaza de San Mateo, near where the artisan market will be set up, with live demonstrations.
Employment days will take place in the markets of San Jorge and Santa María, with concerts as a closing for each day, especially on the latter.
Esther Gutiérrez, the first vice president of the Diputación de Cáceres, presented on Wednesday an initiative that emerged in 2022 «as a sign of cultural power, tradition, and above all, innovation.»
«We want to emphasize innovation in this new edition because tradition, especially in the rural areas, is not strange to our province,» said Gutiérrez.
Jato is a great showcase of the evolution of towns and their ability to create jobs and settle the population through projects that can be developed in rural areas, where innovation and technology play a significant role.
This event also aims to highlight the rural area’s capacity in terms of tourism offerings and leisure time, empowering those who live in our villages, contributing to the sustainability and viability of our people, as stated by Gutiérrez.
To emphasize this capacity, before the main event in early April, a technical day called «Jato Promotes» will take place on March 26th, where experts in rural development, local action groups, etc., will come together to address important challenges that we must all face together. After this technical day and the culmination at Jato, in May, a Congress will be held to address the change in the productive model and the demographic challenge.
Regarding the Jato program, the opening will be on Friday, April 4th at the Balbos Forum, with the artisan market opening on the same day at Plaza de Las Velettas, where visitors can see an exhibition of crafts from Torrejoncillo. Workshops and activities will also take place, including drone flights and extreme workshops.
On Saturday and Sunday, the program will continue with workshops and exhibitions, including a Biomarket at the Balbos Forum, where the best local products can be purchased. On Saturday, starting at 5:30 p.m., there will be a colorful parade of the town’s festivities, and on Sunday morning, the two fashion parades mentioned earlier will take place.
«At Jato, we will showcase culture, music, crafts, gastronomy, nature, traditional products, tourism offerings, leisure opportunities, and workshops with live demonstrations of the most emblematic products to showcase the most important trades in the province,» said Gutiérrez.
Several extreme artists will work on independent structures placed on the walls of emblematic buildings to capture the participants’ attention through urban art.
«We believe it will be a success, as in previous editions,» said the first vice president, expecting massive attendance at the various proposals of this initiative aimed at bringing the wealth of rural areas to the city.
