El Barça cuestiona la «discreción» de Laliga con sus datos económicos

The FC Barcelona has demanded absolute discretion from LaLiga and its president, Javier Tebas, on Monday, as the employer has made public details of the club’s financial information, a move that contributes to a «significant discrepancy on a large scale» within the Barca entity. The club sent a letter to LaLiga expressing its surprise at the publication made on April 2 by the Spanish football managers of an informative note regarding the corporate operation related to the VIP boxes communicated to FC Barcelona at the end of December. The club expressed its disappointment at LaLiga’s inappropriate behavior in making public the details of the financial information provided by the club, as well as in publicizing the decisions made by LaLiga bodies against FC Barcelona.

According to Article 5, concerning confidentiality, the information, data, and documents provided by clubs to LaLiga will be confidential and subject to data protection regulations. This privacy obligation applies to LaLiga, and all its members must refrain from confirming, ratifying, or contradicting the financial data provided by the club. The FC Barcelona was convinced that the publication of this note triggered a large-scale campaign to discredit the club and the president by the media, used as an excuse to question the legitimacy of the competitive situation of their first team.

The club also criticized LaLiga for the statements made by Javier Tebas against the signings of Dani Olmo and Pablo Víctor, considering them a clear attempt to destabilize the club. FC Barcelona announced the beginning of corresponding actions to defend its interests and requested that all details or data related to the information/documentation provided by the club be kept confidential. The club also asked LaLiga to remove the informative note from April 2, 2025, from its website.

Furthermore, FC Barcelona communicated with LaLiga, Las Palmas, and Celta de Vigo, expressing their intention to continue being part of the group of clubs and the current delegate committee despite the current discrepancies and behavior of LaLiga bodies. The club respected LaLiga’s appeal against the decision made by CSD on April 3, 2025, and hoped for a proper response to the false statements contained in the mentioned communication. FC Barcelona also urged LaLiga to refrain from trying to influence jurisdictional decisions through public statements lacking rigor and objectivity.
