Podemos leader Ione Brarra accused the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, of resorting to «intimidation and threats» in response to the «truth» about the high death toll among the elderly during the pandemic, after confirming that a complaint had been filed against her and the organization’s secretary.
«Ayuso is aware that people are increasingly discovering the truth about what happened in Madrid’s care homes due to her deadly management. Therefore, they only have intimidation and threats,» Brarra posted on a social media message in support of his fellow party member.
Meanwhile, through the same social media platform, Fernández declared that Ayuso filed a complaint to «tell the truth» that «her government perpetuated a management of homicides with a shameful protocol in care homes.» «No complaint can cover up the truth. They will not intimidate me or silence me, quite the opposite,» he stated.
The Community of Madrid announced on Wednesday that a new complaint will be filed, this time against the Secretary of Organization of Podemos, for «insulting and defaming» Madrid’s president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, and professionals in the field of the pandemic, alleging that the Community of Madrid had a «criminal management.»
This was announced by the Minister of Presidency, Justice, and Local Administration, Miguel Ángel García Martín, during a press conference after the Council of Government, where he criticized Podemos for not being able to «insult, defame, and accuse a government or professionals in care homes: doctors, nurses, caregivers during the pandemic. They cannot be accused of perpetrating a massacre. It is truly barbaric,» he said.
