En Rioja, the sale of a total of 1,220 used vehicles, 9.1% more than in the same month of the previous year, according to ANCOVE DATA, was recorded in Rioja.
Of this total, cars totaled 992 (4.6% on -an) and light commercials 228 (34.1%).
In the first quarter, 2.2% more vehicles were sold than in the same period a year ago in the community. In total, there were 3,620 vehicles, of which 2,982 were cars, decreasing by 0.7%, and 638 vehicles, with an increase of 18.4%.
Vehicle sales (tourism + vehicles) increased by 9.7%, with 210,617 transferred, 178,925 cars, an increase of 9.7% for the month, and 31,692 commercials, increasing their sales to 9.6%.
The first quarter adds up to 617,842 vehicles, 8.2% more than in the same period in 2024. Of these, 527,271 are cars (+8.3%) and 90,571 light commercials (+7.3%).
In March, sales grow in all age segments, although the older ones lose ground very slowly. Car purchases over 10 years increase by 7.2%, the lowest rate among all age segments. Nevertheless, they account for 56.4% of the market.
The largest increases are concentrated in the 2-3 year segment, but it remains a minority segment.
However, the older vehicles continue to strongly impact the commercial market, with over 10 years reaching 10% – segments like 2 to 3 years (17%), 3 to 5 years (2.7% decrease), and 1 to 2 years (increasing by 1.3%). The largest increase in the month is among the 6 to 10 year commercials (18.7%).
As for engines, eco-friendly ones continue to increase their share, reaching 12.8% in March (a tenth more than in February).
For another month, regular hybrids remain popular with 6,500 cars sold, accounting for 3.6% and a 39% increase; Plug-in hybrids, largely gasoline-powered, accumulate a 2% share and grow by almost 80%, while Pure Electric, with 2,343 sold in the month, increases its share to 1.35%.
