Andalusia Baraja acciones judiciales por supresión del gobierno y transporte gratuito para jóvenes

The Minister of Development, the Territory, and Housing, Rocío Díaz, stated on Tuesday that the Andalusian government will take «all kinds of actions,» including legal ones, after ensuring that «the government has exceeded all limits to eliminate the Andalusian for public transport.»

In an audio statement, the minister described it as «a disproportionate attack» on the young people of Andalusia, which they will not tolerate, considering it as «an unfair, arbitrary, and capricious decision.»

Díaz emphasized that «Andalusia must be respected» and, therefore, stressed that they «will not tolerate any more dissatisfaction for Andalusia.»

The controversy between the state and the Junta over Andalusia escalated on Monday when the Minister of Development announced in Granada that Metropolitan Transport would be free for Andalusians up to 14 years old starting on July 1st, along with the confirmation of the continuity of additional bonuses in Andalusia for regular users.

The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility later responded, accusing the Junta of Andalusia of hiding the fact that it is the Spanish government that is financing and promoting free metropolitan and urban transport for children under 15 years old from July 1, 2025, warning the Andalusian administration.

Minister Óscar Puente mentioned that «the Minister of Andalusia» is «following in the footsteps» of the President of the Madrid Community, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, in announcing an advantage paid for by the Spanish government.

«We will continue to demand this, and if the violation of the law persists, we will enforce it with consequences for the Junta de Andalucía,» Puente stated.

According to sources at Europa Press, the Junta de Andalucía is violating one of the obligations outlined in the call to autonomous communities and local entities, which, if they persist in this deliberate omission, may lead to claims, as stipulated in the regulations for these subsidies.

These sources mentioned the possibility of monitoring Andalusia, specifying that the Ministry of Transport will send a warning letter.

The government defended that there are «50% discounts for young people and CO-CO for 40% bonuses for multiple values and public transport users.»

«The Junta de Andalucía omits that this measure is only necessary because the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has launched specific aid to reduce the price of transport for regular passengers and promote its use for the second half of the year,» these sources added.

In this regard, Article 14 of Royal Decree 1/2025 emphasizes the obligation to «inform users of the transport services that have implemented the discounts from the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility.»
