VOX dejará la Comisión de Deuda Catalana en la Asamblea si PP no permite carácter político.
The parliamentary group of Madrid Vox will abandon, as Psoe has already announced, the Study Commission on the «Bilateral Agreement of the CONCELT SINGULO of Catalonia» if the PP does not allow it to have a political character.
This decision was taken by the party led by Isabel Pérez Mina in the chamber, arguing that «either this is political or a joke» for Madrid. Last week, the party announced that they will request the appearance of former Catalan President Puigdemont and all living Spanish Prime Ministers – Felipe González (PSOE), José María Aznar (PP), José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero (PSOE), Mariano Rajoy (PP), and Pedro Sánchez.
Their intention, as explained by Vox deputy Ana Cuartero, was to analyze, among other things, the historical causes that led to the agreement between the PSC and ERC, emphasizing the «missions» of the parties carried out by the bipartisanship.
After that, PP spokesperson Ángel Alonso took the floor, warning that the «popular» party with an absolute majority in the chamber would not allow «historical revisionism» or «fluff or exotic things,» referring to the advanced list of quarters. They emphasized that they want professionals to come and expose the «attack on coexistence» of the «Catalan quota» agreed upon by the central government and the independence «ahead of the rest of the autonomous communities.»
In Vox, they understand that, through this approach, the PP is taking a «federalist position» in economic terms and that what they intend to do with this commission is to claim that funds were stolen, deserving more. «The same discourse that Catalonia is benefiting from Madrid,» they summarized.
«If the PP continues, they will be alone with more Madrid,» they advanced, recalling that the PSOE has refused to participate, understanding that the meeting was not the place to discuss an agreement between the parties.
The key moment will be on the agenda this Friday, where appearances will be classified by the parliamentary groups. This is where this body, with a majority of PP, can override the political requests made by Vox, they emphasized.
Mañino’s formation has affected the fact that, from the PP, they cannot try to «determine the political interests» of the other opposition groups in this commission and this will not be borrowed for six months in a commission to «make a run» on taxes, discussing technical issues to «comply with the discourse» of the «popular.»
«If we cannot call, we do not have interesting questions to ask their appearances,» these same sources have advanced the political weight that is understood as essential for this commission. They also pointed out that the high profiles of the PP have more to do with a «constituent assembly» than with a study commission in the Madrid Assembly.
Finally, they left the ball in Madrid’s court, if Vox also leaves the commission. If Manuela Bergerot’s people leave, the PP will be alone. They also raised the question that, with the departure of two parliamentary groups, there may not be enough quorum to start the commission.
