The commemorative sculptor team of Empalaos, a regional tourist interest group, is located on Nieva de Nieva Avenue, with the Emplao sculpture standing at a height of 2.30 meters and a width of 3 meters; Cirineo, accompanying Empalao to light the way through the Stations of the Cross, measures 2.10 meters in height by 1.00 meters in width, and nazaren, the female penitent figure walking through the crucifixes, stands at 2.30 meters high and 0.70 meters wide.

The President of the Diputación de Cáceres, Miguel Ángel Morales, joined the citizens of Valverde de Vera at the inauguration of these sculptural works, with the presence of Minister of Culture, Tourism, Youth, and Sports, Victoria Bazaga. Morales was impressed by the magnitude of the artwork, stating that it delights both residents and visitors alike, showcasing the exceptional work of local artists like Pablo Lapeña, the sculptor behind these pieces funded by the Diputación de Cáceres with 18,000 euros.

In his speech, Morales emphasized that these sculptures are not just a tribute to the festival but also to all those who have worked tirelessly to preserve their traditions and culture, as depicted in this wonderful historical artistic group that is Valverde. He also highlighted how the traditions and popular culture in Cáceres are driving development in the region, attracting thousands of visitors each year to Valverde and Vera, with specific financial support allocated to municipalities for promoting these cultural events.

Additionally, the Diputación de Cáceres has invested in various improvement projects in the municipality, totaling 163,900 euros in the last year. This funding has facilitated initiatives like the renovation of the Plaza de España, enhancing the cultural and touristic appeal of the region.

Minister of Tourism, Victoria Bazaga, commended the achievement of this project and its significance for a unique city like Valverde de Vera, emphasizing the impact it will have on the local community and visitors.
