Valencia será sede de la Copa del Rey de baloncesto en 2026 y 2027.

Valencia, in the new and spectacular future Roig Arena de Roig, will host the next two editions, those of 2026 and 2027, of the Copa del Rey del Baloncesto, after the agreement concluded between the Asociación de Clubes de Baloncesto (ACB) and General Valenciano.
«ACB and the General Valenciana have reached an agreement, so Valencia will host the next two editions of the Copa Del Rey, 2026 and 2027. The Copa del Rey will be played at the new Roig Arena, which is in its final stages of construction and will be one of the largest and most modern in Europe, welcoming basketball games in Valencia,» said ACB.
Roig Arena, a new multifunctional venue, will start operating in September and will have the capacity to accommodate over 15,000 spectators at sports events.
According to ACB, the next edition of the Copa will take place between February 19 and 22, 2026, while the dates for the 2027 edition are still pending. Parallel to the Copa del Rey.
The association also emphasized that the arrival of the Copa del Rey in Valencia «will also contribute to the reconstruction after the difficult times experienced in recent months, restoring damaged courts so that players can continue playing basketball.»
The agreement, presented to the General Valenciano, was reflected on Tuesday at Palau de la Generalitat, with the presence of its president, Carlos Mazón, the president of ACB, Antonio Martín, and the mayor of Valencia, María José Catalá.
«We are very pleased to announce that Valencia will host the next two editions of the Copa del Rey. We want to thank the institutions for their trust,» said Martín in statements provided by ACB.
The leader recalled that «the King’s Cups are made for hobbies and those, in a city like this, will not fail and will make an unforgettable event.» «That desire for people to come is what makes the cup magical,» he said.
«If everything good that Valencia offers, adding a facility like Roig Arena, I am sure it will be a perfect combination that will change the future of the cup in the upcoming editions,» said Antonio Martín.
For her part, María José Catalá clarified that for the city «it is an honor to host a tournament that is, in the opinion of many, the most spectacular competition in FIBA club basketball and to thank the General and ACB for putting their eyes on this city that loves basketball.»
Finally, Carlos Mazón highlighted the ambition of the Valencian community for sports and that hosting the Basketball Cup «demonstrates the region’s capacity to compete in the top sports leagues.»
The regional president warned that «there is no better place than Roig Arena», a symbol of the city, the Valencian community, and Spain, to host a Del Rey that he defined as the «summit for national and European basketball.»
«The King’s Basketball Cup was one of the events I fought for the most,» said Mazón, who thanked ACB for choosing the capital for the tour, so that «the basketball family comes to their home in a day of coexistence.»
