Siete detenidos por robos de cobre en plantas fotovoltaicas y barcos en Huelva y Sevilla

The Guardia Civil has dismantled an organized group specialized in copper theft from photovoltaic plants, power stations, and industrial vessels in the provinces of Seville and Huelva.
The investigation began after an increase in copper theft was detected in the province of Seville, which has repeatedly disrupted essential services in the affected populations.
The group also carried out various thefts targeting industrial vessels, reducing their tools and computer materials.
As a result of these actions, the operation began to «grow,» with investigators uncovering the perfect organization and hierarchy of the group, as well as the robust security measures taken by its members.
During the investigative work, a permanent monitoring device was set up to track the targets, checking the use of various skimming vehicles to perpetrate thefts and evade police intervention.
As a result of the police operation, seven members of the organization were arrested while attempting a new robbery in the city of Calañas (Huelva).
This investigation led to the clarification of eight theft offenses committed in the cities of El Coronil, LeBrija, Tocina, Valencina de Desceción, and Valverde del Camino, allowing for the recovery of various stolen materials.
The investigations were carried out by the research department of the main Guardia Civil station, with the arrested individuals and evidence handed over to the competent judicial authority. One of the group members was remanded to prison. The operation remains ongoing, with potential involvement in other thefts and the possibility of further arrests within the group.
