Robles elogia al ejército español por su compromiso con la paz en Europa

The Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, during the video conference with the Spanish contingents carried out by the European continent.

«Their presence in different missions is a reason for peace and security. The work they do and their commitment to peace make the Spanish people consider the armed forces as the most appreciated institution,» said the Minister of Defense, Margarita Robs.

On the occasion of Europe Day, Robles held a video conference from the department headquarters with the Spanish contingents carried out by the European continent, as 80 years have passed since the end of World War II.

«Today we wanted to appreciate the role of the Spanish armed forces in peace and everyday construction in Europe, a fundamental contribution in such complicated and difficult times we live in with the war in Ukraine,» said Robles.

The Minister also referred to the most recent survey by the Center for Sociological Research (CIS), in which the Spanish people considered the armed forces as the most appreciated institution and the one that inspires the greatest confidence, offering an average rating of 6.8 points.

«I believe this is a reason for satisfaction for all of us, because the Spanish people know and appreciate the commitment they have to security and peace. Therefore, I want to convey my pride and thanks for their work and wish them a wonderful day,» said Robils to the contingents of the dozen connected from very different points in the European geography.

From Slovakia, Latvia, and Romania, the controls of the land forces were highlighted, with more than 1,500 soldiers strengthening the eastern flank of NATO. Navy ships operating in naval groups along the Atlantic Ocean, and in the Mediterranean, Baltic, and North Seas have intervened. All of them have provided an update on the most relevant aspects of their contingents.
