El resumen defended the reissue of a candidacy for unity of the remaining alternative in Andalusia, following the awakening of the coalition «Andalusia», while Podemos cooled this option, linking their convergence policy to meet government sectors regarding military spending.
In this sense, the Secretary of Organization of Podemos, Pablo Fernández, emphasized that his party is immersed in a «absolutely essential» political task, which is «the organization of peace forces» and that they «oppose the government of war and rest.» And once achieved, he deepened, the electoral «alliances» in which Podemos can «weigh their own weight.»
This was transferred by the prospects of convergence in Andalusia, once from IU and PCA, they moved to all the formations that make up the «Andalusia» brand, including Podemos and ADD, a common main proposal to choose the candidate for the next regional elections, planned in 2026, and the members of the lists.
The objective of IU, according to some training sources, is that, in June, the parties that wish to bet on a project like ‘Andalusia’, which is the commitment of the current autonomous director of IU, is already clarified, and in September the mayors can organize if it is the method that gathers the consensus of the differentials participating in compliance.
Currently, Podemos shares the coalition in the last regional elections in different regions like Extremadura, La Rioja, Murcia, and Castilla y León, in addition to being part of another broad alternative candidacy in Navarra, as in the case of «Contigo Navarra».
Recently, the current regional coordinator, Begoña Alfaro, advanced that she would not opt to position herself, in accordance with the strategy adopted by the state dome, and that she is in favor of unity projects as in the regional community. Fernández emphasized and appreciated the resignation as a successful decision and said it is positive to give to people who are proud of Podemos and want to strengthen the party.
During his appearance and when asked if there were negotiations with the rest of the left-wing parties to integrate into the same candidacy in Andalusia and Castilla y León, the secretary of the state organization replied that they are now concerned with articulating the «forces» that oppose the military drift of the government.
«From there, if we are able to articulate that social and political force of peace, which opposes this government of war, militarism, and complicity in genocide, the alliances will fall by their own weight,» he added.
Furthermore, during his press conference, he emphasized his reproaches to the government led by Pedro Sánchez, whom he sees as a «war regime» that will entail social discounts. «We suffer a government of war, lies, and colludes with genocides,» Podemos also passed.
Meanwhile, the position of the movement is added and highlighted by the spokesperson of the party in another press appearance, which was favorable to a broad left candidacy in Andalusia, because its «unitary will» is known.
Urtasun explained that the success of the summary coalition in the last 23 elections «merits all» electoral processes, although he said that the decision in which they participate in Andalusia is in the hands of fellow classmates in this autonomous community. «I just want to emphasize that our 23J model is one of success and must be defended.»
In addition, the Minister of Culture considered that dialogue and negotiations between the formations must occur with «discretion» and the leadership of political leaders in Andalusia. Therefore, he mentioned that there is no statement outlining guidelines on alliances.
While adding sources indicate that movements continue with the interest of assembling a broad coalition in Andalusia, Podemos emphasizes that their criteria must form a critical front against PSOD. Therefore, they admit that it is difficult to share a candidacy with government parties and assume it when the line marked by the party in their last meeting is a disruptive strategy regarding the executive that must be consistent at the state and regional levels.
However, it emerges that any scenario is open and they are not rushing to make the candidates for the regional elections in Andalusia and Castilla y León. In this way, they emphasized that whoever wants to set deadlines to close coalition agreements is equivalent and they will not rush them into future negotiations.
It should be noted that in the last meeting of Podemos citizens deepened their criticisms of the addition, which they considered an operation to end the party and subordinate the PSOE. In addition to the houses, they positioned themselves as candidates for general elections, as is their militancy, who argues that the socialists integrate the supporters of the second vice president, Yolanda Díaz.
In turn, Sumar has established that the general line is to promote the election of regional governments from the unity candidates, as approved on 23J, and extended the hand to Podemos to meet, despite the break that took place between them at the end of 2023.
