Moreno destaca crecimiento del turismo internacional en Andalucía durante la Semana Santa

The President of the Andalusian Government, Juanma Moreno, emphasized that Andalusia is growing «at a very accelerated international rate» in terms of tourism and indicated that the «Andalucía» campaign is working «and revealing» a special interest in the region, especially for its Holy Week and Tradition.
Moreno, who participated in the transfer of the Christ of the good death of the Mena Congregation in Malaga and visited the House of the Brotherhood and the titles of the Brotherhood of Jesus Nazarene of Paso and the Virgin of Hope, stated that the Holy Week of the Tourist Campaign is already «a reference in the world» and is already reaping the benefits of this campaign.
«We grew by 5% last year in tourism after the campaign and we are growing at a very accelerated international rate,» said the President of Andalusia, who mentioned that international tourism «leaves more resources, because on average they stay two more days, they come from afar, and they also have an average expenditure of 240 or 250 euros per day.» This «more selective tourism» generates «job activity and therefore more stable employment.»
He also mentioned that from flights coming from the United States, «where I made a special effort,» as well as from Asia, they collected, for example, the soundtrack of «Crush Andalucía.»
Moreno has ensured that the grand procession planned for May 17 in Rome (Italy) with the images of Christ on the victory of the Cătăluș Brotherhood and the happy Maria by the Speranței Brotherhood of Malaga, is in line to showcase the traditions of Andalusia to the world and «will be a projection of our land.»
«There are high expectations, a lot of interest, and I am convinced that not only Romanians, but also many citizens of Europe and the world, will be able to appreciate the beauty of our images and also see the power and projection of our Holy Week,» he said.
Therefore, he indicated that both images will have the «immense honor» of representing Andalusia in their procession through the streets of the Italian capital and stressed that «it is unusual, not common, that in Rome, sponsored by the Holy See, by the Pope, something that has never been seen in 400 years.»
As he mentioned, «there is a lot of interest and expectation» and «our passion will surprise, for the beauty of our images, for our idiosyncrasy» and also for the dimensions, mentioning, for example, that, for the Hope which is seven meters high, it was necessary to remove a tram «because it is so big that it is so big.»
«All this is the mark of Andalusia and is a projection of Andalusia, so we, from the Andalusian government, collaborate to design the image of Andalusia throughout Europe,» said the President of Andalusia.
He emphasized that another example of the projection of Andalusia is the transfer of the Christ of the good death and Souls of Malaga, known as the Christ of Mena, to their Brotherhood house, generating «great anticipation» not only in Andalusia but also at a national and international level. «It is unique, very iconic, and this makes people from all over the world come with curiosity, with interest, and therefore it is an event that generates a very special attraction,» he said.
For Moreno, there are «very good expectations for the rest of Holy Week» regarding tourist figures, especially during those «strong days,» such as Thursday and Friday, and the weekend; Therefore, he emphasized that «we will exceed 90% occupancy in provinces like Malaga, Seville, and probably Jaén, and the rest of the Andalusian provinces will be easily covered.»
He encouraged «Andalusians and those who are not Andalusians to visit us, they will not regret experiencing the power, intensity, passion, and how wonderful our Holy Week is and they can enjoy it with us.»
He also highlighted the work carried out by the Brotherhood and the Brotherhood and thanked all these institutions, because «there are many young people who find their musical vocation thanks to many bands that sponsor» and also for the social work with families and vulnerable groups, in addition to maintaining our «traditions, our Andalusian identity.»
