Más de 1.3 millones para reformar residencia de ancianos en Albel de Iregua

The Board of Directors authorized an investment of over 1.3 million euros in the renovation of a residence for the elderly in Albeda de Iregua, which offers residential care services for 216 public places.

The forecast is that the works will begin next May, with a duration of 10 months and are intended to carry out the rehabilitation of the basement, two porches, the sanitary facilities network, and the renovation of the exterior carpentry in the lower facilities and the basement.

The elderly residence «La Rioja» in Albel de Iregua has been owned by the government in Rioja for dependent elderly people since March 1997. Until then, since its construction in 1969, the property was used as a summer youth camp.

The renovation project written by architect Vanesa Marauri Nieto, technical architect César Sáez Jiménez, and industrial engineer Jesús David Argaiz Martínez, gathers all the needs that will be met with the renovation of the basement, the porch of wings B and B, the facilities network, and exterior installations to the carboros.

The purpose is to improve the conditions of the facilities in accordance with the government’s institutional objectives. Among other actions, it aims to solve humidity and drainage problems, as well as sinking the sidewalk that may cause inconvenience to users, workers, and visitors.

The works are budgeted at 1,339,615.72 euros, investments that will be distributed over two annual installments:

– 2025: 1,071,692.58 euros
– 2026: 267,923.14 euros

The auction will be processed through an open procedure.

Since 1997, several maintenance works and improvements have been carried out, such as the construction of the Day Center in 2006, or the Alzheimer’s Day Center in 2007, as well as the repair of various facilities and air conditioning between 2010 and 2014. Renovation works were undertaken on the carpentry of the west area and the north facade, as they are the most unfavorable orientations.
