Manifestación en Sevilla reúne a miles por la salud pública

The mobilization started at 11:00 in the morning on José Laguillo Street in the Andalusian capital, heading towards the San Telmo Palace, the headquarters of the Board of Directors, with the aim of protesting «against the health policies of the Board of Directors government.»
Under the slogan «Against the dismantling of public health,» the participants in this demonstration, supported by more than twenty citizen organizations, political parties, associations, professional collectives, hundreds of SAS professionals, and other entities, expressed «their rejection of the attack by the Andalusian government against one of the fundamental pillars of the state.»
In a joint statement, the organizing organizations warned that public health in Andalusia is now at risk due to an Andalusian government that is opting for a weakened and mistreated public health system, deciding to transfer a large part of its public budget to large pharmaceutical companies and private healthcare.
For the CSIF, SATSE, CCOO, UGT, and White movements, public health workers «have experienced the greatest abuse by the public administration towards its professionals, and the Ministry of Health Hamitetó» represents the largest known institution in the history of the Andalusian Board of Directors, the agreements for improving primary care and professional careers with the union career summary, and even the union career agreements, and even with the union career, and even with the union career, and even with the union career, and even with the union organizations, and even with the union organizations, and even with the professional career agreements. –
The organizing organizations asserted the need for «the consolidation of primary care» and denounced «the aggressive policies of the Public Health Board,» urging the Morene government to increase per capita spending on public health to at least match state resources and restore the budget to ensure the public system remains intact.
Furthermore, the organizing organizations argued that «primary care is being fulfilled, which implies an increase in staffing, a reorganization in management, an empowerment of its professionals, and a focus of this level of care on the real needs of the population and those communities, especially those suffering from health issues.»
Additionally, they emphasized the importance of respecting the «professional agreement of May 2023, which is being reduced due to the wage gap compared to the rest of the country, and providing professionals with the necessary resources to carry out their work in the best possible conditions.»
Among those participating in this demonstration were political leaders representing the PSOE-A, led by their Secretary General, María Jesús Montero, who stated at the beginning of the protest that Saturday is a day to celebrate «because Andalusian society is demanding quality.»
The first Vice President of the Government and former Minister in charge of Health emphasized the need for «better conditions for healthcare professionals and, ultimately, the restoration of self-assessment and pride in affirming that this land once had a public health system, which has been allowed to deteriorate by not allocating more resources.» However, this situation has worsened.»
Other political representatives included Inma Nieto (IU), who criticized the destruction of public health in Andalusia under Juanma Moreno’s presidency, highlighting the shift of billions of euros from public quality to private healthcare. She criticized the privatization model of Moreno Bonilla for negatively impacting healthcare professionals.
In conclusion, the demonstration called for urgent action from the Ministry of Health to fulfill the primary care agreement and strengthen diagnostic testing, ensuring that every euro is used to benefit public health. The protest aimed to show the government the widespread dissatisfaction with current health policies and the importance of preserving public healthcare in Andalusia.
