La Xunta defiende que la carga contaminante de Altri no supera el 5% del total

The Minister of the Environment, Ángeles Vázquez, defends that the «polluting load» of Altri does not exceed 5% of the total, so in the rest of the water mass below, its pollution is not appreciable.
Remember that, as communicated in the environmental authorization, the nitrogen level was reduced by 43% and phosphorus by 73% according to the requirements of Galicia to the Company’s initial proposal, leaving 8.5 milligrams of nitrogen per liter and 0.5 milligrams of phosphorus per liter respectively.
After his speech, sources from the environmental department have clarified that this 5% limit is set by the Ministry of Ecological Transition in its Guide of recommendations to assess the effects on the environmental objectives of water bodies, in projects that may affect these bodies. «It is considered, according to the ministry, that a condition exists when the mass of nutrients provided by the project represents more than 5% of the total annual mass of the same nutrients received directly by the water body (and downstream bodies that meet the same condition),» they say. «In the case of the Altri project, the implementation of the factory will not exceed 5% in relation to the nutrient inputs currently found in Pordemoura, according to the report from Augas de Galicia,» adds this department.
During the plenary session of the Parliament, the BNS deputy Monser Valcárcel denounced that the Altri project requests the award of Augas in the Pordemorou tank for 75 years, which is still awaiting approval, to capture 46 million liters of water per day, so the «macrocele» «needs» macrocele «», needs the «macrocele»».
In response, the Minister explained that the technicians from Augas de Galicia analyze rigorously the request for water collection in the Pordemorou tank, which must comply with the Galicia-Costa hydrological plan.
He emphasizes that the water that the company intends to capture is not fully consumed, but a part is returned to the river (cobertizos) after proper treatment at a purification station. He stresses that the actual flow expected to be consumed would be at most 5% of what the river flows in the driest month. The average flow will be 532 liters per second (0.532 cubic meters per liter), and the maximum flow will be 640 liters per second, which he says are «much lower values than the available levels.»
Vázquez says that the water temperature can increase by up to three degrees in the first 50 meters of drainage, so there will be «no condition.»
Furthermore, Ingeles Vázquez showed «all the» respect «of the technicians whom» he defends «, spoke with the bloc.
