La plataforma Sijena cree que la reapertura de la exposición favorecerá el fin de las disputas con Cataluña

The platform Sijena was convinced that opening the exhibition part of the monastery to the audience will favor the resolution of the litigation with the ownership of the Oscendeni assets, initiated in 1939.
This was stated by their spokesperson, Juan Yzuel, coinciding with the reopening of the Sijena monastery to the public on Saturday, March 29, after two years of work and over two million investments, which allowed for the rehabilitation and adaptation of the spaces to display a selection of nearly a hundred pieces of Hersonone.
Additionally, they have worked on a project to showcase the most prominent part of the recovered assets, which have been temporarily kept in the units of the old religious rooms awaiting the preparation of the exhibition spaces.
Meanwhile, the exhibition part is reopening while awaiting the Supreme Court to resolve the last appeals filed by Catalonia against the rulings that ordered the return of the mural paintings in the chapter.
Yzuel indicated that the Institutional Opening Law was celebrated around March 28, but since 1923, the monastery has been declared a national monument and «due to this declaration, the assets have been recovered and will allow us to continue working to recover the mural paintings, which are the most valuable to recover.»
In this sense, he added, «today’s opening is a step forward, which will favor and finally put an end to this dispute that has been going on since 1939 when Franco’s troops entered Barcelona and discovered the washing rollers during the Civil War, assuming they would protect them, although they could not have them, they never burn.
Therefore, Yzuel highlighted the opening to the public of the works of Sijena and predicts a very interesting visit for the visitor. «We have worked, organized, and planned for the Aragon government to adapt this space, and we look forward to marveling at the beauty that the monastery in the areas that were previously in ruins since the Civil War and have been recovered,» he added, «it will be an interesting visit for all those who come to the monastery in the coming months.»
However, Sijena becomes a reference in culture, history, and art, said the Sijena spokesperson.
On the other hand, Yzuel lamented that the monastery has been around for almost four and a half years and stated that a monastic community lives and gives it life, so Cenobiul combines its artistic, historical, and heritage value with the spiritual and religious. He also recalled that the Monastic Center is threatened by the implementation of a wind farm with large wind turbines in its vicinity, for which signatures are being collected against it.
