La Oficina de Reflexión del Gobierno de Aragón logra ahorros del 36% en electricidad

The Department of Animals and Agriculture Food obtained up to a 36 percent savings on electricity costs for the next twelve months through the latest common electricity negotiation process. A total of 65 Gigawatts per hour (GWh) were negotiated, with an estimated economic value of 8.2 million euros. These agreed prices will be in effect until April 30, 2026.

A total of 139 supply contracts were grouped together, with the majority belonging to irrigation communities in Aragon. Additionally, 124 communities in Navarra and 24 in Catalonia participated in the negotiation process. This marks an increase of 10 new supplies compared to the previous year.

This initiative, led by the government of Aragon through Sarga, aims to reduce energy costs for irrigators and promote modernization and irrigation development in the agricultural sector. The collective bargaining model has proven to be more efficient than individual negotiations, providing access to significantly lower prices. In this process, 6 electricity suppliers were involved, with differences of approximately 36 percent between the most expensive and most favorable offers.

The negotiation process focuses on consolidating demand through informing irrigators, requesting quotes from multiple suppliers, publicly opening bids, and selecting the most advantageous offer. This opportunity is open to private irrigation communities with power contracts exceeding 15 kW.

Those interested in participating in the upcoming negotiation can contact the Sarga Reincha office by phone at 976 070 000 or via email at «officinitystant@sarga.es». This service aims to minimize cost increases resulting from electricity market liberalization in 2008.

The Irigra office, a consultancy service offered by the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food in the Government of Aragon through Sarga, focuses on energy-related issues such as electricity supply contracts, regulatory advice, energy optimization, and anomaly detection in electricity bills. Additionally, the office provides guidance on irrigation system management, operation, maintenance, and training activities.

The main goal of the Irigra office is to promote a more competitive and sustainable irrigation sector in Aragon while preserving environmental resources.
