La inversión de 230 millones de euros en Valdemoro para fortalecer servicios públicos.
Díaz Ayuso emphasized the need for the regional government to continue fulfilling the programs for which it was elected, «governing for all, creating the conditions of freedom and legal certainty, so that those who create a job can continue to do so» and thus «prosper and have resources to sustain and manage public services.»
First and foremost, she highlighted that in Valdemoro, among other investments, «a very important project» will be carried out for the construction of around 500 new affordable rental properties in the city. In this regard, she announced that the Board of Directors has authorized today the tender of two developments by the Social Housing Agency with an execution period of 30 and 26 months. The Madrid community will invest 58 million in building 279 homes in Valdemoro for vulnerable families, with rents not exceeding 250 euros.
There will also be the construction of 150 Young Solution homes at 6 Agustina de Argón Street. The transfer of the property for its construction has already been approved (during a public information period), adding up to a total of 19,700 square meters. These are part of the 4,500 homes in the affordable rental plan exclusively for individuals under 35 years old.
In addition, the construction of 2 developments, totaling 39 public protection homes (VPPA), with commercial spaces and garages, with an investment of 8.4 million euros. These are 85% community-funded developments. The execution period is set at 26 months. They are currently in a tender phase.
The regional president also stressed that the Madrid community will allocate 12 million euros to build a new public institute in El Hospital, in the North of the municipality. Furthermore, the extension work on Neil Armstrong has already begun, with a budget of 1.1 million euros. These works will add six new classrooms, providing an additional 180 public educational places.
On another note, extension works are expected to be carried out next year at the Virgen del Rosario Public School to accommodate new classrooms and enable the Center to offer various courses, at a cost of 3.7 million. The municipality inaugurated a new public special education center in 2023, the Duke of Ahumada, with an investment of 6.3 million.
Single bus ticket payment
In terms of transportation, Valdemoro will be the first municipality where passengers can pay through a bank card, starting next week, for a single ticket on bus route 424 covering Madrid-Valdemoro (El Restón). It is estimated that route 422 Madrid-Valdemoro will also incorporate this payment method by the end of the month.
At the same time, the Madrid community contributed 10.7 million in 2024 to the service of the 18 lines that travel over three million kilometers annually to ensure the mobility of citizens living in this city. Similarly, road safety and maintenance have been addressed to improve the connection of M-404 with the A-4 and M-404 bike lanes.
In terms of freight transport, the Madrid community is collaborating with the city of Valdemoro on the Ergón A4 project, of significant dimensions, for the construction of the first intermodal logistics park (road and rail) in the region.
Third health center by the end of 2026
Regarding public health, the regional government has carried out improvement works at the El Restón and Valdemoro health centers, amounting to over 850,000 euros. Additionally, the construction of a third health center in this municipality has just commenced, expected to be operational by the end of 2026 with an investment of 2.6 million euros.
Valdemoro is home to the Public Hospital Infanta Elena, which has recently introduced robotic surgery, with its first intervention taking place this week. Furthermore, plans are in place to launch a healthy food plan for hospitalized patients (which will later extend to the cafeteria, public, and staff). The area has already seen an increase of 4,000 citizens and there are considerations to expand the parking area.
On another front, thanks to a 2 million investment from the Regional Investment Program (PIR), street asphalting in the municipality will be improved, and the facilities at the Ronda del Prado Sports Center will be rehabilitated. Among other actions, the refurbishment of the facade of the Ana María Matutes Municipal Library stands out.
These investments are complemented by 16.8 million for the new Valdemoro Palace, which consolidates the two existing venues in the municipality. Since its inauguration in May 2023, this building hosts eight first instance and instruction courts, the guard and enough reserve space to accommodate up to five additional courts, the prosecutor’s office, the bar association, lawyers, mediation services, criminalistics, the dean of the Dean’s Chamber, and Gesell. It serves eight neighboring cities and caters to over 154,000 individuals.
On-site cleaning functions
In the environmental sector, in 2024, the Madrid community conducted cleaning works on-site. The same action will be carried out in 2025 in the area known as Los Huertecillos with a budget of 3 million euros. Additionally, 718,000 euros will be invested in this legislative period to support small and large companies in the industrial sector to enhance technology in industrial equipment and processes.
In the agricultural sector, between 2019 and 2024, support was provided amounting to one million euros for the modernization of agricultural farms, environmental programs, agro-industries, animal protection, sheep and goats, COVID areas, and mountains, as well as a subsidy to promote the suspension of milk exploitation.
In emergency situations, the Valdemoro fire station has received an investment of nearly 65,000 euros for maintenance activities; over 465,000 to provide new technical resources to this center; and 1.1 million for the acquisition of equipment and vehicles, ensuring effective intervention and floating vehicles.
Furthermore, the construction of the Regional Forest Rangers Office in San Martin de Vega, adjacent to Valdemoro, has been valued at 1.9 million euros. Regarding security, an investment of 1.2 million is planned as part of the local police assistance program. Finally, through the public company Canal de Isabel II, measures have been taken to renovate the sewer network on Cuesta Valderrama Street and Menorca and Ibiza Streets, amounting to 1.8 million. Additionally, this month, renovation works on the Channel’s Sana sewer network are set to commence, with an investment of almost 2 million euros.
Since 2019, the Ministry of Economy, Finance, and Employment has invested over 13.6 million in the field of labor, training, industry, and commerce. For the year 2025, support lines remain open for access by the unemployed, freelancers, and businesses in the city.
In terms of employment, nearly 2 million from the Madrid community was invested in various programs to support priority groups such as long-term unemployed individuals and those over 30 years old. With an investment of 5.7 million, self-employed workers were assisted, including those on zero-rate and old-age sheep schemes, benefiting Valdemoro’s self-employed individuals. Additionally, over 4.2 million was allocated for the training of the unemployed and the implementation of training actions for employed workers.
New facilities in residential and day centers
The regional government reinforces its social commitment to Valdemoro with investments exceeding 17 million. Specifically, 11 million euros will be allocated to finance around 600 spots in residential and day centers. Furthermore, to strengthen the disability care network, 1.3 million will be used to serve an estimated total of 160 individuals.
In 2025, the agreement signed with the Local Council of Valdemoro covering essential services, such as basic benefits, full protection of children and adolescents against violence, support for families, and child poverty, will be expanded by 1.1 million euros. In terms of early intervention, 96 spots will be created for children aged between 0 and 6 years.
Regarding women, a new economic injection of 200,000 euros is expected to continue efforts aimed at eradicating violence against them; and this year, leisure activities and sociocultural animation activities are planned for young people to provide healthy leisure alternatives, promoting social integration and volunteering, benefiting over 600 participants.
Concerning culture, tourism, and sports, investments from the Madrid community have enabled the restoration of facades and the entrance of the Casa Caplana at the Monastery in the city, with over 107,000 euros, as well as the city fountain, completed last year with over 53,700 euros. Additionally, the comprehensive restoration of the Parish Church of Our Lady of the Assumption is planned with an investment of 400,000 euros.
As in previous years, the regional government will once again expand to Valdemoro, hosting the May celebration. Also, the Madrid Community Theatre Network will continue to engage residents with an investment of nearly 50,000 euros. Through the Active Madrid region, the local council offers the Valdemoro Trips program to combat sedentary lifestyles and associated illnesses, providing physical activities equipped with 31,500 euros. Two active points have been funded with almost 150,000 euros in recent years.
Finally, in terms of digitization, an investment of 70,700 euros is planned for 2025 in ten educational centers in the locality for connected schools, providing broad internet connectivity or WiFi for all classrooms. Additionally, technological materials such as desktops or laptops have been renewed for both students and teachers. Last year, 84,800 euros were allocated to this initiative, benefiting eight educational centers.
In the judicial field, 165,800 euros were invested in the digitization of infrastructure. Specifically, this amount was utilized to modernize court views and vocal award licenses. Over 10,600 euros were also included to enhance technological equipment and health infrastructure.
