La Fundación Chavicar Cáritas participated in 1,213 people throughout 2024, through its social and labor insertion. Specifically, the job placement agency, located on Manantias Street, 7 in Logroño, registered 755 new enrollments in the last year: 440 women (59.8%) and 315 men (41.72%), with 46.9% being of Spanish nationality (354). Job seekers who visited the job placement agency were 196.1% under 30 years old; 403 (53.38%) between 30 and 52 years old; and 155 (30.53%) were over 52 years old. 6.36% (48) had some type of disability.
This information was detailed by the president of the Chavicar Cáritas Foundation, José Andrés Pérez, and the general manager, Esther Sueiro. Through its job placement agency, the Chavicar Cáritas Foundation informs, advises, guides, provides training, and job opportunities to facilitate employment.
The typical user profile of the job placement agency in 2024 was a woman, unemployed, with training, without disabilities, between 30 and 52 years old, of foreign origin. In 2024, the job placement agency managed 371 job offers and processed 152 job placements. Additionally, 185 individuals accessed training for employment.
Likewise, in the Social and Labor area, the Chavicar Cáritas Foundation carries out the Rioja Baja travel program, which served 104 individuals last year; as well as the Reincorpora program, founded by the La Caixa Foundation, aimed at the social reintegration and employment of individuals without freedom who have served or are serving sentences.
Through the Reincorpora program, the Chavicar Cáritas Foundation assisted 38 individuals in 2024: 30 men and 8 women; 29 of Spanish nationality, 3 Moroccans, 2 Colombians, 2 Romanians, and 1 Brazilian. 26 of the program participants were actively seeking employment (the remaining 12 were in internal programs), and 14 obtained job placements.
Regarding training, the Chavicar Cáritas Foundation organized 23 courses last year aimed at employment, attended by 185 individuals, of which 47 secured employment: 30 participants in hospitality training; 2 in housekeeping; and 15 in road cleaning. Additionally, 106 participants underwent internships in companies.
The courses offered covered truck driving, hospitality (4), shoe manufacturing (2), basic computer skills (6), cross-sectional environment (2), cross-sectional equality mode (2), road cleaning (3), and contract typology (online). 113 women (61.08%) and 72 men (38.92%) participated in the courses, with 106 participants being of foreign nationality (57.45%) and an average age of 43.
On the other hand, the Chavicar Cáritas Foundation’s social insertion centers in Logroño, Haro, and Calahorra served 80 individuals. Specifically, 34 from the Logroño center; 22 from Haro; and 24 from Calahorra. The goal of the social insertion centers is to provide comprehensive development to individuals through socialization, motivation, training, and empowerment.
The social insertion centers cater to individuals lacking motivation and security, lacking socialization, facing complex personal environments, requiring basic training, in need of daily occupation, seeking to enhance their personal and social skills, and looking to implement habits and routines.
The Chavicar Cáritas Foundation, managed by Sueiro, processed 1,191,678 kilograms of waste last year. Specifically, 762 tons of textiles waste; 228 tons of paper and cardboard; as well as 41,739 of bulky and electronic waste.
Textile waste represented 64% of the recycled materials by the Chavicar Cáritas Foundation last year. Currently, the foundation operates three stores, two in Logroño, one under the RE+ fashion brand, and a third in Calahorra.
Additionally, the confidential document disposal service recycled 99,090 kilograms of documents in 2024, a 70.47% increase compared to 2023. In the economic area, the Chavicar Cáritas Foundation reported revenues of 1,539,449 euros and expenses of 1,204,245 euros in 2024, resulting in a balance of 335,204 euros.
