La Guardia Civil continues on Thursday, coordinating with other units, the large search operation held on Wednesday morning in Santa del Cala (Huelva), in connection with the disappearance of a 48-year-old woman, whose investigations began last June.
In this way, the Armed Institute explained that on Wednesday they carried out an entry and search in a house in this town in search of any evidence that may be useful for locating the missing person. In addition, other inspections were carried out in open spaces near the town.
On the other hand, the Government Delegate of Spain in Andalusia, Pedro Fernández, explained in Granada on Wednesday that the investigations carried out «for a year» by the Civil Guard «point to a house with an adjacent plot» in the municipality of Huelva, and therefore the agents «carried out a search of that house.»
He also indicated that, so far, no one has been arrested for this event, but «it is not ruled out that it may happen,» because he pointed out that what is being done in the investigation is to «corroborate» if there is any indication of «what relationships this address has with the missing woman.»
«She is a 48-year-old woman who disappeared, but I cannot provide more details than these, because we do not have the certainty and assurance that there is a direct and immediate relationship from this search. There are clues, but we must wait for that ocular inspection to speak, after which we are talking,» he added.
Additionally, Fernández denied that «no one was rooted» and that the inspection «was done in the presence of one of the owners of the farm,» because he reiterated that «at this time there is no person detained,» but «it is not excluded that, if any clues emerge from this inspection, a type of detention can be carried out, but at this time there is none.»
On the other hand, in view of the information arising from this operation, the Municipal Council of Santa Del issued a statement on Wednesday on its social networks, calling for calm and tranquility. «We pray for calm, ignoring rumors and news without verification from the media and official channels, and we will not spread rumors or information that could disrupt normalcy and lead to panic situations,» he added.
