Informe de liderazgo del BMW X3 Modelo 2025: SUV compacto de lujo

Do you remember? When was the first BMW X3 presented at the IAA in Frankfurt? As the little brother of the X5, with a striking design characterized by the rugged protective bumper and headlights, the compact SUV made a clear statement. The X3 then went on to achieve great success with two generations that were visually less reserved. Today, with the fourth generation, the X3 remains true to its origins: once again polarizing.

The design of the new X3 is based on bold lines and sharply accentuated edges. Depending on the equipment version, diagonal decorative elements are used on the front grille. The interior remains faithful to the modern design language, giving the X3 a strong identity as a premium vehicle. When compared to its siblings, the X1 and X5, it stands out. Therefore, only genuine BMW parts ensure the correct passage for the X1 or X5.

The technology behind the impressive X3 has been meticulously revised to meet present challenges. Balancing the demands of increasingly complex customers and growing EU requirements is crucial. For example, assistance systems that used to be deactivated with a simple push of a button must now remain permanently activated. However, BMW has solved this seamlessly, subtly warning the driver when exceeding the speed limit or veering off course. The systems remain intuitive without overwhelming the driver.

For those focused on sustainability, there is a plug-in hybrid X3 30E with a four-cylinder gasoline engine and a 299 hp system. This version offers a pure electric range of up to 90 kilometers, but at a cost: it adds 300 kilograms of extra weight and reduces trunk space by 110 liters. However, it provides an eco-friendly way to reduce CO2 emissions, especially when combined with the «Electricity Maps» app, which shows real-time CO2 emissions from the electric grid. The official consumption of 0.9 liters per 100 km should be taken with a grain of salt, but the X3 30E, with an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds and a top speed of 215 km/h, remains a joy to drive.

If you prefer a conventional model, the X3 20 is the right choice for you. The consumption of 7.6 liters per 100 km can easily be optimized. But if you are looking for more driving dynamics, the Diesel X3 20D will not disappoint. With 197 hp (145 kW) and an acceleration of 7.8 seconds to 100 km/h, it offers an effective alternative, while consuming 6.4 liters per 100 kilometers.

If you strive for top performance, you should opt for the X3 M50, powered by a six-cylinder 3.0 liter petrol engine delivering an impressive 398 HP (293 kW). In just 4.6 seconds, it accelerates to 100 km/h before reaching a top speed of 250 km/h. The consumption remains acceptable at 8.3 liters per 100 km, but the true highlight of this model is the combination of performance, engine sound, and driving experience, for those seeking the ultimate driving experience. From mid-2025, a six-cylinder diesel engine is also expected as an alternative.

Technically, the X3 remains true to the BMW philosophy and is based on the in-house rear-wheel drive platform. However, in this series, all-wheel drive is always on board. This not only provides excellent handling characteristics and precise steering but also ensures a high level of driving comfort, unaffected even when driving sportily. The steering is direct, the brakes finely dosed, everything that makes a BMW.

Inside, the driver can expect a comfortable yet polarizing cabin. The previous driver-oriented layout has been changed in favor of a horizontal screen, whose graphic design leaves a playful impression. Despite this optical change, the electronics now work at lightning speed, and the management modes have been much clearer.

The entry price for the X3 starts at 57,900 euros for the gasoline version, while the diesel costs 60,400 euros. The plug-in hybrid costs 66,000 euros, and for the top sports model, the X3 M50, you should expect to pay 82,500 euros. For a premium SUV that is both polarizing in design and driving dynamics, yet almost perfect, these prices are more than justified.
