FMG planea crear 100 empleos en Linares tras adquirir Vadollano Polvorín

The ammunition factory in Granada (FMG), part of the MSM Slovak Group, plans to create 100 jobs in the short and medium term related to the production of ammunition in Jaén. FMG took over the facilities of the old Vadollano Powder Magazine, abandoned by the army over a decade ago and now slated for development.
The Mayor of Linares, Auxi del Olmo (PP), and the Minister of Industry, Business, and Employment, Raúl Caro-Accino, held a working meeting with the directors of FMG to discuss the implementation of this new company in the city.
«We, as the government team, express our satisfaction for the arrival of this new commercial project, particularly in facilities that can only be used for this type of activities, given their characteristics and the unique functionality of their bunkers,» said Auxi del Olmo.
The Mayor also highlighted that «the establishment of this company is another commitment to the diversification of the local economy.»
The Vadollano Powder Magazine consists of two farms with a total area of 894,759 square meters. It is located about seven kilometers northeast of the urban center of Linares and about 1,000 meters north of the Vadollano station.
It is rustic land, surrounded along its perimeter, with an irregular sloping polygon, where a network of roads and facilities for powder use was built.
The site, used as a military powder magazine for decades until 2012, is one of the 51 properties taken over by the Institute of Housing, Infrastructure, and Defense Equipment in October 2021.
At that time, the local council of Linares demanded the suspension of the auction or even its annulment to proceed with the purchase, but the request was not granted, and the process continued as planned.
