Estados Unidos suspende temporalmente información sobre Ucrania

Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, said that both parties had been working on a future meeting after the United States announced it had halted information with Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Wednesday that there are «positive movements» in the talks between the United States and Ukraine and that both sides have started working towards a future meeting.
Following his evening address, Zelensky posted on X that his Chief of Staff, Andriy Yermak, had spoken on the phone with U.S. National Security Advisor, Mike Waltz, hoping to «see some results next week.»
Yermak confirmed the phone call in another post. He wrote that they «discussed the next steps towards a proper and lasting peace» with Waltz, adding that they have changed opinions on the «alignment of positions» in the bilateral relations between the United States and Ukraine.
Zelensky also mentioned that «a lot of international work» was done on Wednesday at the EU summit on Thursday in Brussels. He spoke with the leaders of the Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, and Germany and thanked them for their support.
U.S. Temporarily Suspends Information on Ukraine
The announcement comes at a time when the United States halted the exchange of information on Ukraine, thus reducing the flow of vital information that helped this war-torn country fight off Russian invaders.
«We took a step back and halted and reviewed all aspects of this relationship,» National Security Advisor Mike Waltz.
However, Trump administration officials said on Wednesday that positive talks between Washington and Kyiv mean it may only be a short halt. CIA Director John Ratcliffe described the suspension as a «break» and said it took place after the disastrous meeting between Trump and Zelensky in the Oval Office last week. Ratcliffe said Trump wants to ensure Zelensky takes peace seriously.
A Break on the Military and Information Front
«On the military front and on the information front, a break that allowed a step back and I believe we will work with Ukraine as we did,» said Ratcliffe.
Information about Russia’s intentions and military movements was crucial for Ukraine’s defense and a strong indication of U.S. and other Western allies’ support. The suspension comes after Trump halted military aid to Ukraine and is another sign of how he has transformed the U.S. relationship with its close allies, as he softens towards Russian President Vladimir Putin, in his push for Zelensky to negotiate a peace deal with Russia.
