En Rioja se reporta una ocupación del 100% en los 82 recursos regulares.

The government in Rioja reported that, in the first three months of the year, 18 unaccompanied minors were assisted without family in Spain in our region. On March 28, 2025, the executive Gonzalo Capellán stated that «we have a 100% occupancy in the 82 regular resources, 100% in the immediate care center, and 98% in the Children’s Center from 0 to 6 years old.»
Additionally, during the year 2024, 17 unaccompanied minors were assisted in the Minor Protection Service in Rioja.
The Riojan executive has already transferred the requested data to the Ministry of Youth and Children from the autonomous communities regarding the capacity to receive their minors.
Furthermore, on March 28, 2025, they also transferred «Occupying residential places (apartments) of our protection system for 15 foreign minors without relatives in Spain.»
The executive emphasizes that Rioja has 135 places distributed in:
– The apartment for children in Comet (from 0 to 6 years old) with 18 seats, direct management which, despite having a significant number of places for what is considered a home, has all the ingredients necessary to be considered a home for the boys and girls received. They are accommodated while a host family is found or can return to their own.
– 11 flats (from 6 to 18 years old): 82 plus 5 emergency places (managed by the Diagram Foundation) for children aged 6 to 18, except for the exception. They are medium to long-term flats.
– The immediate care flat (managed by Faim, the foundation for comprehensive child care) for children between 6 and 18, except for exceptions. It is a short-stay home, with a capacity for 8 minors and provisions, until the child returns to the family or moves to a flat.
– Additionally, «we have 22 medium places in therapeutic centers in other autonomous communities.»
The forecast until 2025 is to increase the spaces by 12%, up to 153 in 2 new flats of 8 and 6 places and 4 more places in the immediate care center.
