Wholeom Direct, an annual showcase of cute and cozy games, is returning on Saturday, June 7th at 12:00 ET / 9:00 am. This year’s event will feature «a vibrant range of artistic, uplifting, and emotional resonances from developers of all sizes from around the world,» according to Wolelose Games’ post.
Sholeam Direct from last year covered over 30 games, including updates to already released titles and the unveiling of brand new games. The definition of «wholesome» is as broad as the wholesome games organizer’s criteria, but Museum: a frog’s haven from 2024 Direct is a good example of the type of game that this showcase likes to feature. It’s a cute concept (a management game about running a wildlife shelter), has beautifully illustrated art style, and offers a relaxed yet deep gameplay experience. Many of the projects that complement the average wholesome direct lineup are suitable for a similar description.
WholeS Sesom Games has not yet announced which developers will be featured during the Wholesome Direct, but chances are high that their own wholesome games lineup will have some games in the mix. Is this seat taken?, a puzzle game about figuring out seating arrangements, has no release date yet and would be a natural fit for the show.
Sholeam Direct 2025 will be streamed on YouTube starting on June 7th at 12:00 ET / 9 am. The showcase falls right in the middle of the Summer Game Fest, a series of affiliated gaming exhibitions that begin airing on June 6th, 2025.
