El Ministro de Salud en Asturias pide más agilidad en los CISNS para incorporar nuevas tecnologías

The Minister of Health of the Government of Asturias, Desceción Saovoedra, stated on Friday that the Internal Council of the National Health System (CISNS) is «much more agile and decisive» in reaching agreements for the «centralized» entry of new technologies and therapies into the National Health System (SNS).
«We have a fundamental task in the Council, which is one of the communities, that must be more agile, more decisive, and we need a greater number of shared decisions. We all face the same situation when it comes to this incorporation and the risk we face for sustainability with the incorporation of new technologies,» said SaoVeave at the time.
Furthermore, the councilor argued that within the CISN, health management should be «independent of political debate» as he believes that «the problems are the same» for all autonomous communities. «When I meet with other councilors of any ideology, we talk and face the same issues. Health management should be independent of political debate,» he added.
Regarding the Primary Care and Community Care Action Plan 2025-2027, approved by CISNS last December, Saovedra praised it as «good» because it has «funding,» which is a first. He also mentioned that there will be additional funding for digital transformation, not just the initial 6 million for equipment.
Saovedra expressed the need for modifications in the framework so that health services can be more agile in human resources planning. He emphasized the importance of consensus among all communities for the ease of implementation. The new framework should be more comprehensive, allowing communities to plan and organize services more effectively.
In terms of specific frameworks for physicians, Saovedra favored focusing on teams rather than individual professionals. He stressed the essential role of doctors in healthcare organization but believed in a unified framework for all healthcare professionals to maintain consistency.
Saavedra also highlighted the importance of considering additional factors beyond population numbers in health financing models. Factors such as funded expenditures, elderly population percentage, and socio-health needs should be taken into account to address the unique needs of each region. Asturias, being the region with the highest healthcare expenditure per capita, faces challenges due to its aging population and extensive rural areas.
The Minister concluded by emphasizing the need for increased investments and healthcare funds in regions like Asturias, where the demographic challenges require a tailored approach to healthcare financing.
