Secretary of State for Commerce, AMPARO López Senovilla, carried out a workday in Valencia, where she organized meetings with trade associations and companies to learn firsthand about the needs and challenges for the economic activity of this autonomous community.
Additionally, she took the opportunity to share the measures launched by the government to contribute to its reactivation and leverage internationalization as a vector of recovery.
For this purpose, a day was organized in Valencia at the Chamber of Commerce «Official financial support tools in the internationalization of the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Business» to explain these financing tools and the role they can play in the relaunch and transformation of Valencian companies affected by DANA, as all tools have developed flexible and prioritization measures to support the internationalization projects of these companies.
«We have a variety of financial instruments that can be combined to provide customized solutions to the needs of each company of any size. They stand out for their flexibility and versatility to develop new foreign investment projects in any country and in most sectors. Through public financial support, companies can strengthen their internationalization process, increase their size, and improve their competitiveness,» said Amparo López Senovilla.
These are managed by specialized entities such as ICO, Cofes, Cofides, and the State Ministry for Trade itself, through the Fiam Functionalization Fund. Furthermore, their access is fully digitized, ensuring an agile, simple, and transparent process.
«They have a significant catalytic effect: financing in 2024 was related to contracts worth over 17.8 billion euros. For every fundamental euro, more than 4.7 euros were mobilized in commercial contracts,» said the Secretary of State for Commerce.
Additionally, during the day, the export and investment arm of ICEX Spain showed that, in collaboration with trade associations, it develops effective tools to stimulate the international promotion of companies, not only through financial assistance but also with personalized services. In 2025, it will provide free advice to companies affected by DANA to facilitate access to international markets and ensure they have the necessary support in their recovery process.
These tools were presented by Manuel Illluca, President of the Official Credit Institute (ICO); Beatriz RegUero, Director of the State Account CASCE; Miguel Tiana, General Manager of Cofides; Jordi fornells, Deputy General Manager of Financial Instruments for Internationalization; and moderated by the Director of Infrastructure and Industrial Technology of ICEX Spain’s exports and investments, Marta Valero.
