El gobierno de Aragón invertirá 10 millones en un edificio para FP tecnológico de alto nivel

The contest of ideas will arrive soon between this Friday and next Monday, according to the vice president

The Government of Aragon will invest up to ten million euros in the construction of a new building in the Technology District Aagage (DAT) «Alierta» in Zaragoza to provide professional training notes in the technological and digital field «at the highest level.» To do this, a contest of ideas is called, whose tender will be published throughout Friday or, at the latest, on Monday, for an amount of 276,000 euros, to define the design of the space.

The Vice President of the Government of Aragon and Minister of the Presidency, Economy, and Justice, Mar Vaquero, was responsible for announcing this news on the date in Alierta, accompanied by the regional head of education, culture, and sports, Tomasa Hernández, in statements to the media from the doors of the hemicycles, where Friday is the day of the day.

Mar Vaquero recalled that the hectares of surface Aliera-79 are high as a «great technological space» related to business, research, innovation, and vocational training. Therefore, the first step that takes place in the training field involves the construction of facilities that will have classrooms, workshops, areas dedicated to technological and digital entrepreneurship, in addition to multipurpose rooms.

Along these lines, the Government of Aragon launches a contest of ideas to design the FP building for an amount of 276,000 euros. The deadline for submitting proposals is 30 days, and from there, the jury will select the winner, who will have five months to prepare the project that will define the new building, «which we want to be unique, complying with each of the latest technological and Garde advances,» said the Vice President.

Throughout this year 2025, Mar Vaquero continued, the final project will also be tendered, trusting that the planning of the works will begin in the next two years.

The objective, as Vaquero advanced, is that this new tenant of Aliert complements its activity with those existing ones dedicated to innovation to respond to the profiles that companies request and advance on the path established by the Aragonese executive at the beginning of the legislature to place technology as a «key and lever of social and economic transformation.»

On the other hand, this Data Alieta project will mean that the old building of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Aragon (CRE), in the Expo area, which houses the digital campus, will be empty. «They are isolated, and we want them to be in an environment so close to innovative companies and universities, forming an ideal ecosystem for FP students to have relevant knowledge.»

However, «Alierta does not start from scratch, but from a significant presence of the university, CSIC, the Technological Institute in Aragon, also CEII, which has a new operational and strategic model to stimulate new companies,» he explained. He also mentioned the announcement made by the President of the Government of Aragon, Jorge Azón, during the closing of the «The Wave» Congress of an investment of 20 million euros to install the Research Center for Energy Resources and Consumption (CIRCE) in the same enclave.

For his part, the Minister of Education, Culture, and Sports has celebrated that training will have a space in this case, ensuring that the courses learned will be «the most elaborate» possible and fully related to technology because if the autonomous community «must seem like a technological society, training is essential.»

Tomasa Hernández stated that the technological FP moved to Dat Alierta must contribute with an «added value» because both students and teachers will also be in contact with companies of the highest level, with the university. «We will start working now,» said the counselor, referring to the degrees that will be learned there, including the new ones: «We will make a qualitative leap in technology.»

In Aragon, as reported by the Minister of the Branch, there are 14,000 vocational training students studying technological subjects related to this field, such as computer science, robotics, or mechatronics.

In this sense, Vaquero emphasized the importance of vocational training as a «fundamental complement» for the «exponential» development and growth of the technological sector that the experiences of Aragon, although he referred to the «vertiginous» pace that «we do not know the training cycles that will be required in one, two, or three years.»

«We are convinced that it will be a very important challenge, and we want AGose to have had this opportunity, it will be a construction of opportunities and will also serve to increase our management in technological employment,» said Vaquero, adding that the Government of Aragon has already signed more than half a dozen of Aragose and international companies have already expressed and built spaces.
