El estreno absoluto de Yugoslav de Juan Mayorga destaca en la agenda cultural de Madrid.

The community cultural agenda of Madrid will be interpreted this weekend by The absolute premiere of Los Yugoslavos. The latest work by playwright and director Juan Mayorga, at the Abadía Theater (from Thursday 22 to Sunday, Juan from Cruz the Sala). Sadness, love, hope, and the power of words are the issues that revolve around the work. Javier Gutiérrez, Luis Bermejo, Natalia Hernández, and Alba Planos are responsible for bringing this text to life, never before performed.
Also, Madrid en Danza, which is in its third week, brings four new shows in these days. It is worth noting Magnificado, the latest work by Canadian choreographer Marie Chouniard, created from Bach’s music. It will be presented at the Teatros del Canal (Sunday 25, Red Concha Velasco) in a double program, with the second part being Coronación de la primavera.
Isabel Vázquez challenges stereotypes with a language full of irony and rebellion in Zambra de Good Savaje, directed by Alberto Velasco (Saturday 24 and Sunday, la cuarta pared en la habitación). Meanwhile, the Canary Richard Mascherin invites us to reflect with Apertura (Saturday 24, Centro Cultural de Paco Rabal) on reconstruction after a collapse, with six dancers on stage embodying this situation through a cathartic choreography.
The fourth absolute premiere comes from the hands of dancer Daniel Ramos and violinist Víctor Guadiana, creators, directors, and artists of Ecológico (Sunday 25, Té Tro de la abadía). A choreographic musical game in which Ramos’ movement connects with Guadian’s songs to convey emotions and tell stories without the need for words.
The program of this festival organized by the Community of Madrid includes other meetings this week, two of which are represented at the Teatros del Canal, coming for the first time in Spain. On the one hand, todos (Friday 23 and Saturday 24, sala negra), where choreographer and dancer Alexander Ventournolow along with his collaborator, Emmi Väisänen, transform simple actions like hands and walks into a dynamic canvas of the body. Both weave a choreographic tapestry, making even the subtlest movements extraordinary. The show is further enriched by the sound landscape created by composer and guitarist Geoffrey Burton.
On the other hand, Seguidores infames (Saturday 24 and Sunday 25, Green Hall). Company La última vez con Wim Vandekeybus at the head reinterprets Greek mythology in this program, updating it by interpreting a new generation of dancers, following texts written by poet Fiona Benson for this scene.
Finally, the company Jacob Gómez meets Meohadim (Friday 23, Sierra Norte Norte Regional Center of Humanistic Sciences, De La Cabrera) the experiences of five sisters, those of the Valencian choreographer, which draws a family genealogy from childhood to music, voices, and movement.
