El bouquet floral regresa a Madrid en San Isidro.

The delegate of culture, tourism, and sports, Marta Rivera de la Cruz, accompanied by the councilor of Centro, Carlos Segura, participated in one of the sessions of the Tamil flower workshop organized in Plazuela De Santiago, as part of the activities scheduled by the Local Council of Madrid to celebrate the festivities of San Isidro.
Cruz emphasized that this is «a very attractive initiative and allows us to learn about the traditions and history of Madrid» and emphasized the importance «Madrid knows the tradition of plant species that have surrounded the verbs of San Isidro since its inception.» He also recalled that «the word ‘verbena’ comes from the bouquet of flowers that have already been associated with these holidays.»
This workshop, of a theoretical-practical nature, allowed participants to learn how to make branches with traditional May species, such as LILACS, Bujori, or Daisies, while delving into the history and symbolism of pilgrimages, processions, and floral offerings dedicated to San Isidro.
Each session had 40 participants, confirming the public’s interest in previous traditions. A similar reception was received by the Chotis workshop held from May 5 to 7 at the Plastic Arts Circle, which brought together a total of 720 people.
