El aumento en los costos laborales marca el cierre de 2024 en la zona euro y la UE.

The fourth quarter of 2024 saw a moderate increase in labor costs in the Euro area and the European Union, with a rise of 3.7% and 4.3% respectively. This growth reflects a slowdown compared to the same period the previous year.
The component of wages and salaries showed a growth of 4.1% in the Euro area and 4.7% in the entire EU. Additional non-wage costs saw an increase of 2.6% and 3%, respectively.
In terms of sectors, the industry recorded a 4.3% increase in the Eurozone, while the construction sector saw a 4% increase and services at 3.7%. Across the EU, the production industry saw a rise of 4.9%, construction at 4.5%, and services at 4.2%.
In terms of international comparison, Croatia, Poland, and Romania led the growth with increases of 14%, 13.8%, and 13.1% respectively. On the other hand, Luxembourg, France, and Belgium reported smaller increases at 0.8%, 1.9%, and 2.2%.
Regarding Spain, labor costs increased by 3.3%, below the Euro area and EU average. This increase included a 3.2% rise in wage components and a 3.7% increase in other expenses not directly related to salaries.
