Comienza Eurovisión 2025 con 15 países compitiendo por un lugar en la final.

The 69th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will kick off on Tuesday, May 13th at 9:00 p.m. with its first semifinal. In this round, 15 countries will compete for a spot in the final on Saturday, May 17th. Spain’s representative, Melody, will perform for the first time at St. Jakobshalle in Basileland (Haitzerland).
The «Big Five» countries (France, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Spain) along with the host country (Switzerland) do not participate in the semifinals and automatically advance to the final. Therefore, Spain, Italy, and Switzerland will vote in the first semifinal, while France, Germany, and the United Kingdom will do so in the second.
The hosts for Tuesday’s event will be presenter Hazel Brugger and singer Sandra Studer, who represented Switzerland in the 1991 contest. With the theme «where it all began,» 15 artists will compete for a place in the grand final, with only 10 moving forward.
In the first semifinal, countries such as Iceland, Poland, Slovenia, Estonia, Ukraine, Sweden, Portugal, Norway, Belgium, Azerbaijan, San Marino, Albania, the Netherlands, Croatia, and Cyprus will compete. Additionally, viewers will enjoy performances by Spain, Italy, and Switzerland, the host country. As these three countries are already guaranteed a spot in the final, they will not be able to vote.
The second semifinal on Thursday, May 15th, will feature countries like Australia, Montenegro, Ireland, Latvia, Armenia, Austria, Greece, Lithuania, Malta, Georgia, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Israel, Serbia, and Finland. The United Kingdom, France, and Germany will have direct entry to the final.
Finally, the Eurovision final will take place on Saturday, May 17th in Basel. The event will showcase countries that have qualified from both semifinals, along with the Big Five members and Switzerland, the host country and winners of the previous edition with Nemo and the song «Ya».
