On March 22, 2025, the 116th edition of Milan-Sanremo will take place, marking the classic spring event on the international cycling calendar and the eighth race of the UCI World Tour. This unique race covers a distance of 289 km, starting not from Milan but from Pavia and culminating at the finish line on Via Roma in Sanremo, passing through various cities in Lombardy, Piedmont, and Liguria. Due to the race, the closure of different roads will be necessary, especially given that on the same day the Sanremo Women’s Race will also be taking place, starting from the center of Genoa. Here is a list of road closures in Genoa on March 22, 2025, for both the Milan-Sanremo and Sanremo Women’s races.

Transition to Genoa in Milan-Sanremo 2025

Notably, cyclists participating in Milan-Sanremo 2025 will enter the metropolitan city of Genoa through Rossiglione between 13:11 and 13:27 (depending on speed), then pass through the Turkish pass between 13:31 and 13:49, descend to Voltri by 13:45 – 14:04, journey through Vesima, pass through Arenzano between 13:53 and 14:14, and reach Cogoleto, the final stage in the province, between 13:59 and 14:20.

Transition to Genoa for Sanremo Women 2025

As previously announced, the women’s race will start directly from Genoa at 10:35 am precisely at Piazza della Vittoria. The cyclists will then navigate through the old port of Elevat, traverse the main roads of the city’s western districts, pass through Voltri, follow the men’s route on Via Aurelia, heading west through Arenzano and Cogoleto. The passage through the last two municipalities in the province is scheduled for 11:15 – 11:20.

Road Closures in Genoa on March 22, 2025, for Milan-Sanremo and Sanremo Women

• Municipality of Territory 8 – Levant Media

From 12:00 on Friday, March 21 to 15:00 on Saturday, March 22, 2025, and in any case until necessary, there will be a ban on parking and standing and a no passage for all vehicles, except those used for assembling and disassembling equipment and structures required for the event, in Piazza della Vittoria on the adjacent road to the volcanoes.

The alternative configuration of an alternative route at the detachment between Brigata Liguria and Piazza della Vittoria, to allow access and exit of Liguria Viale Brigata vehicles parked at the mentioned detachments, with the obligation to stop and turn right at the intersection between the same detachment and valley;

Reversal of travel direction from Pontente to Levante (from Levante to West) at the detachment connection between Brigita Bisagno and Piazza della Vittoria, side/Levante Levante, to allow possible vehicle exit in case of congested spaces in the wavy park of parco Afriba, aboa, aboa with the obligation to stop and turn directly at the intersection between the same detachment and Viale Brigata Bisagno;

Alternative establishment of an alternative route at the detachment connection between Brigata Bisagno and Piazza della Vittoria, Monte/Levante side, to allow access and exit of vehicles located, with the obligation to stop and return at the intersection between the same detachment and biganos vivos;

From 6:00 to 12:00 on Saturday, March 22, 2025, and in any case until necessary, prohibition of transit on Via CADORNA, Viale Brigita Bisagno Direction Sea, and Viale Bregate Direction Partizan for the transit of cyclists in the race.

From 10:00 on Saturday, March 22, 2025, and in any case until necessary, prohibition of transit in the road direction or in both road directions as requested by the event organization, except for vehicles supporting the auction.

• Municipality of Territory 2 – West Center

From 10:00 on Saturday, March 22, 2025, and in any case until necessary, a transit ban is established, except for vehicles supporting the auction, on the following routes:

– through Di Francia, semi-centenrike on the mountain side towards the west, in the stretch between Fiamme Gialle and the junction of the road Aldo Moro heading through France (axis 2);
– through Fiamme Gialle;
– La costa del cáñamo, the western direction, in the stretch between the confluence with Fiamme Gialle and the graft with the road of Guido Rossa;
– Guido Rossa Street, Road to Monte in the west.

From 10:00 on Saturday, March 22, 2025, and in any case until necessary, the transit ban is established in the following ways:

– Guido Rossa Road, limited to the Western Direction;
